Okay so im fairly new to this site and most forms of internet marketing but im thinking of putting together a course for a marketing technique I'm good at and have been using for years for other things. How should I go about making the course and getting it out there since im pretty much unknown?

Figure out who your main market is. Who is going to buy this course. Who does it appeal to. I'd suggest you first write your sales material as though the course is already finished. Mention all the benefits and features. Tell people why they need it. Tell them why they need it over tens of thousands of other marketing courses. You should spend a lot of time getting your head around who your buyers are and write for them.

Then create the written version of the end product for those buyers. Since you've done your homework you know their fears and joys and what the want and what they definitely don't want. Create your product with that in mind.

Explain stuff so a new marketer can understand while not talking down to a veteran. Get it all into a Word doc or Open Office. Put in illustrations and charts if you need to. When that's done turn that thing into a PDF.

Once you have that finished record it to audio and finally create a video series. If you're not up to the audio and video stuff find someone who will do those parts well. Now you have an excellent course that appeals to people who like to read, watch and listen. Good luck.

I would suggest reading a book or two on the topic. Searching through this forum for posts around ebook promotion, webinars, etc.

Oh, one book I really enjoyed was How to Write & Sell Simple Information for Fun and Profit by Robert W. Bly.

I was thinking of make the course in video format I assume ill still have to have those same considerations. If I did say a video format I could pre-make most the course and perhaps leave the first vid undone and make it a webinar? Just shooting out ideas xD

You can maybe skip the audio part but video only or PDF only and you'll leave money, a lot of it, on the table.

So I should incorporate all of it into the course? I see and that would add much needed value to it.

Include interviews in your book with some people more prominent then yourself and leverage their credibility.

I would recommend you to come up with a series of newsletters if you are targetting the beginners. Usually, I prefer reading newsletters than looking through videos because newsletters seemed to be giving the same content and it is straight to the point.

Video will come in handy if you are sharing some higher level of things which are not mentioned by many people. It is just my opinion

The one thing that will get you customers is providing PROOF that your methods work. With video you can show people the results you are getting and what this course can do for them.

Don't forget to include a transcript of the video, as a Partially Deaf person I find that invaluable in following what someone is saying, that also goes for those whose English is not their first language.
