New Here! Advice? But Not New To Online Marketing :)

Hi,

im new to this site but not new to online marketing. I know quite a bit about online marketing and even make a little money in it. I have been out of the game for a year now and realize that article marketing is not what it use to be.

Correct me if im wrong but doesnt Ezine articles not rank as well now? Thanks

        How many ezine articles are you now seeing ranking on page one? There was a time when you would search google and always find an Ezine article on page one..

        Check now and you rarely find one, so the answer is Ezine is not ranking like it used to, however as somebody has already mentioned it's a great place to get IDEAS for writing content !

        Welcome FranklinMarketing,

        Two things I would say.

        1. As I think was mentioned earlier, the state of Ezine articles varies depending on who you speak to; however, the people that are really having a problem with them are those that are relying on them to much.

        2. As was mentioned before there are some good guides on the panda changes etc. However, I do take issue sometimes when people talk about the fact that it is only spammy sites that Google are punishing because you have to understand that what one persons definition of a "Quality" site is may not add up to what Googles definition is.

        So you might create a site that you think is awesome and your visitors might think it is awesome, but maybe Google's robots have a different view because of a few small things that don't quite match up to Google’s mechanical definition of a "quality site".

        I am just speaking hypothetically.

        Anyway, the point I am trying to make is don't get to caught up in ezine articles or panda updates.

        You need to have the power in your own hands, not in Google’s.

        Just my 2 cents worth.

    You need research buddy...

    Changes in Google mostly is related to those people that were making money using spamming, so Google kick them with his new algorithm.

    Money is now in a combination of offline & online marketing...
    Thousands of courses you can find in here but only a few of them helps you making serious cash.

    The argument rages on about ezine articles. Some still value it and others don't. Alexa Smith has run / contributed to a number of threads that might help you with this and the Google debate so you might benefit from searching these. Without putting words in her mouth, I think the gist of them is that if you're going to write something, why give it to an article directory if it can be better used by giving your site what Google loves - regular updates of high quality relevant content.

    As Alton suggested, the main thrust around the Panda update is about punishing those trying to game the system and rewarding those who create quality relevant sites with regular updates.
