Which free domain extension ranks better in the search engines?

Hello

I was thinking of making a website with a free domain extension such as .tk or co.cc. Which one of these rank better in the search engines?

Which of these sites would rank better do you think for the keyword christmas cake?

1)a web 2.0 page like squidoo or weebly page about christmas cake

or

2) a webpage with the exact keyword in a free domain name like www dot christmascake dot tk or www.christmascake.co.cc

Which of these do you think rank better?

thanks

I would think the first. Because you can spam it with backlinks but it gets buffered because its a site from a HUGE web 2.0 site.

    my 2 cents

I think that by comparison with a top-level domain, they both rank so badly that it's not worth talking about.

In the past, Google has even de-indexed the .co.cc domain, and all its subdomains with it. (Those aren't "domains", by the way - they're subdomains: the "domain" is co.cc. ".co.cc" isn't a domain extension at all. .cc is the extension. The "co" part is the name of the domain itself).

A .info domain can be yours for under $2. That's a top-level domain and can rank exactly the same as any other top-level domain.

thanks alexa what about .tk domains? I heard about a sixth of all phishing attacks come from .tk domains.Do they get ranked in goosgle? How about .co.nr domains? they are from the country of naura and are free also?

Is it probably better to try and rank with a .info domain or blogger blog?which is better?

.info is miles better ... not just for ranking reasons (you can rank a blogspot subdomain well), but for a whole stack of other reasons (I just replied to your other thread).
