How does ehow do it????

How do eHow attract so many people to log in and post articles on the website for free? It's brilliant, considering that many posts are in the top ranks of Google. I know That allrecipes.com, foodnetwork.com, and many other does the same thing. How Do they do it? And what do they do???

And now they have all the articles they need and there are no articles in the queue to be written. At least, there weren't any the last time I looked. It's for the best, though. I learned how to fish.

    1) Thousands of their articles are written by paid freelancers, 2) the articles written for free offer a financial incentive to the writer (portion of ad revenue).

    It's not that complicated.

Much of the content on eHow was written by Demand Studios writers, I know because I used to write for them and still have an open account with them. They pay up to $15 for simple how to articles of 500 words or less, making it a respectable source of income for freelance writers.

The only downfall is dealing with the content editors - it doesn't matter how perfect you write your articles, they are going to make you change something!

Anyway to answer your question - many of the eHow articles come from higher end writing networks and the authors get paid for their work - they are not freely contributing it

eHow used to have a WCP (writers compensation program) where you would get paid based on your ad clicks and you could include affiliate links in your resource section. I personally, made thousands of dollars writing How To's on eHow and so did a lot of other people...so that is how they did it.

The parent company, Demand Media ended the WCP and writers now have to apply to and write for Demand Studios which supplies articles for LiveStrong, eHow, Knol, AnswerBag and other sites. eHow made monetary offers to many writers for their rev share articles and "bought" out all those articles. Interestingly enough, they also deleted many of the articles the purchased.

At Demand Studios, you can choose if you want to write for a flat rate (usually around $15 per article though some pay more or less) or for the Rev Share program.

With eHow, you could pretty much write what you wanted with no interference, so if you knew what you were doing, you could make some cash quickly, but with Demand Studios there is a lot of restriction and rewrites requested etc. I did write a few Rev Share articles for DS, a couple years ago and still get paid month after month for them.

No this is not how eHow works. They are no longer operating their Writers Compensation Program as I mentioned above. Articles are written via Demand Studios and compensation is by flat rate or Rev Share.
