Ok, so I use YouTube a lot and in bulk, but now I want to focus on the quality of my submissions. There are a couple of things I have run into and I want to see if its taught/is the right thing to do (i.e. for results, not moral/ethical etc). 1. Keyword "Stuffing" I notice a lot of videos that get a decent amount of views have long descriptions heavily loaded with the keywords they have optimized for. Is this a viable way of getting better results within both YouTube and Google? 2. Inflating Your Views I was paying particularly close to one submission I saw this weekend. It was only a little while old and had over 200 views. Now, the keywords were not a great niche (home business/make money online related) and they did use the long descriptions with a lot of keywords, but I do not believe hundreds of views were legitimate. Is it a taught concept to inflate your views artificially to attract views (i.e. the "what's the crowd about" curiosity)? Thanks Brent |

Personally I don't consider "stuffing" immoral. Faking your views does seem immoral to me. Everyone has the opportunity to stuff, while only people that buy certain software can fake views.

I'm not saying its immoral...I'm asking if its the "right" thing to do (i.e. right for gaining views, right for creating traffic to our sites, right for all reasons regarding traffic). I'm very curious about the inflated views. So much so that I ran an experiment. I had noticed that this particular video I had seen had a very common grouping of keywords throughout the description (and not 100% reflective of the video title). So I ripped it off for a test. =) I had seen several videos with high results pull the same paragraphs, so I thought I would test it. And where they had hundreds of views within just a few hours, mine has had 3...which leads me to believe they are artificially inflating their view count to make it look more attractive. Brent |
