Your strategy for creating long term traffic

Hey,

how do you guys create long term cost-free traffic?
I've read quite a lot in the last couple of days, and I'm interested in hearing how you guys do it.

Personally I live off of investments in good companies I've made in the past. The idea of making some additional dollars online interested me, so I made the decision of learning everything about it. (Well, as much as possible at least )

I've always loved passive income, and I'm glad I found this website.

Cheers

One of the best things you can do is build up communities on social media sites like Facebook and LinkedIn, be sure you send them the answers to the questions they're looking for, encourage constant sharing of your content, and over deliver and communicate with your group as much as possible.

    Hey Mate,
Getting to 20,000 per month isn't that far out of reach. You are only looking at less than 1,000 per day and you can certainly do this. My preferred method is SERPs and content, I like crowd sourcing my content via forums and other community discussion while promoting individual deep links to rank high in search engines (long tail and little competition). Senuke will certainly help you do this. I believe in most circumstances it is better to buy it if you intend on using it heavily.

    Thanks!

Standing with a huge double sided sign in the busiest intersection here in Charlotte NC with a call to action to go to my site. lol! j/k

I'd have to say the biggest push I'm doing now is building more Twitter followers in my niche (right now I'm at 5700+) and finding ways to reward them for both purchasing and referring people to my site.

The other big factor is redoing more of my on-page SEO and trying to do a bit more backlinking than I've done recently. Hoping the SEO to be one of my main factors that drives traffic to the site, and letting my email marketing take care of repeated traffic.

In a nut shell all things SEO will bring you traffic but the BEST traffic is and always will be email traffic which means building an email list and driving your list to whatever offer you have . So you first have to get the traffic to your squeeze page and SEO is the best way you can find a break down of what that is exactly in some of the other posts I already saw some good info thanks

I do all of the basic things -- article marketing, social bookmarking, forums, etc. but to stay up there and understand where my SEO stacks up, I use Places Scout.

Check it out in my signature! I highly suggest. The article I wrote explains how it works really well.

There are some great tips in here.

What is missing though is this......

You can get all the traffic in the world, but that means diddly piddly...

What you want is targeted traffic, so you need to go to the places where your most likely customer is hanging out and put your messages, sites links, content right under there noses.

That is right, do not let the traffic come to you, go to them first. It is the easiest way you can make sales.....even if you copy and offer is half decent I guarentee you will make sales.

So remember its about quality traffic, not getting millions of hits to your site. The more targeted, the more chance of people subscribing and buying your stuff.

Just work smarter and get highly targeted customers and the rest will fall into place.

    I use article syndication
    blog comments
    forums
    email lists
    solo ads
    Press releases
    JV's
    intergration
    newsletter swaps
    email swaps
    CPA
    PPV
    Pay Per Click
    Offline media
    TV ads
    Radio Ads
    online radio ads
    Fiverr outsourcing
    and my phillipino VA

this helps me drive traffic.... but off all these 3 of them work the best.

My strategy is to try and create large quantities of high value/quality evergreen content, and then to promote it to others who will hopefully share it with others.

A good list will give you the best traffic you'd ever get for sure. And of course, having a product and an army of affiliates promoting you for also works great.

I'm having a stab at viral marketing at the mo. I like the idea of it, how it "snowballs" out of control the longer it runs.

The best long term traffic strategies require that you invest in them before. Some of the best ones are joint ventures (promoting through email other people's products/ your partner doing the same).

Also, solo ads is a good one. But both JV's and solos require money.

The free long term choice is SEO, which I'm not a big fan of, because we all know how tediously slow it is. We all want results like today.

Definitely, when you have the $100K to spend yearly, then the big boys do it with buying targeted lists, banner ads, adwords maybe.

If you don't have the dough, then you most probably need to settle for SEO.

long term traffic is SEO. so if you are on the first page then that will give you continiously traffic. Articles will give you continiously traffic. And I would say affiliates actually.
