Default E-Cover Softeware Recommendations

To All Fellow WF members,

I'm on the lookout for recommendations regarding an e-cover generator that also has a graphic interface that can be used to create a wide range of e-covers.

From what I've seen so far on the Internet, most, if not all e-cover apps only allow you to just create the e-cover graphic itself, such as a hardbound book, spiral notebook, membership card, etc., etc.,

However, not being tech savvy in using Photoshop and strapped for cash to outsource at this time, I'm looking to take any recommendations on what e-cover apps are, if any, on the market that not only allow you to create a multitude of e-covers, but also allow you add text and images as well...sorta of an 'all in one' ebook creator if you want to call it by such a name.

Thanks,

Ray

Scott,

Thanks for the link..in reviewing the comments for the ecover creator, it's just like everything else on the market..in that in ONLY creates the image, such as the book, cd, credit card image...and that you still need to create the actual artwork in another application.

What I'm looking for is an 'all in one' application that will allow me to not just create the ebook 'cover', but also allow me to add text, as well as images...so the end result looks like any of the following images..

So, again, if anyone knows of such a product, please let me know.

Thanks,

Ray

G`day Ray,

Big Mikes GFX Writer does what you want, I`ve
been using it for quite awhile now with no problems.
You can create all your graphics with GFX Writer to,
not just ecovers.

"SOFTWARE BOX" SAMPLE:

HEADER SAMPLE

Naturally Photoshop would be much better ... not to shabby tho IMO

**HINT** He`s having a sale Feb 10th you may
just wanna buy more than just the GFX Writer though
... quality at full price ... almost "stealing" it at the price
he`s gonna have on the 10th

get in touch with Big Mike anyway, he`s one of THE best!!

Christopher,

Thanks for the reply...however, if the software application can't allow me to BOTH create the graphic AND the e-cover as well, then it's not going to work.

Anyone else have any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Ray
PS: I did forget to say that GFX writer looks like a killer program for creating killer headers, which I just may pick up in the not so distant future! Thanks for the recommendation!

Ray....there are plenty of free easy to use graphics programs and that's the way you'll have to go if you want anything decent. Otherwise you're probably wasting your time because your covers will look unproffessional and you'd be better off without them.

I've seen a lot of programs that create graphics, if you want something decent then you'll need a graphics editor to create the graphic.....which really isn't hard and a program or ecover images to paste the graphics on.

If it were super easy, everyone would be doing it and there wouldn't be a need for people like me

Good luck to you!

Did you try to look up on google to see what's up there for e-cover action software? Maybe you'll find something that you like, there are many software that creates great 3D e-covers and allow you to add the image and text you want.
Good luck with your search

I'm creating a website right now and I use CoverAction Pro and is really good, maybe you can try to see if is going to work you. I heard that guy is working to upgrade the version to CAP 2.0 and it will be a great. You can check it out at: coveractionpro.com

EDIT: Christoper....Upon further investigation, your recommendation of GFX Writer is JUST WHAT I'm looking for!

Thanks!

everything I found using google and e-covers was just referencing software that only allows you to create just the cover itself..you know..a blank "book", or a 'blank cd' or a 'blank spiral bound book'..or a blank 'credit card' which is often used for membership sites...

What I'm trying to find is a program that I can open up, create say a 'book' type icon, then also be able to add some 'text' to the front of the book...as well as on the side of it too.

I'll check out the suggestion made by "Alida"...and as far as your comment Christopher, I can say that I initially mis-read your comment..the part where you said:

"You can create all your graphics with GFX Writer to, not just ecovers."...

I read it as:

"You can create all your graphics with GFX Writer...just not ecovers."

So, for that, I apologize! :-)

Guess I need to go to bed, seeing as I've been up for more then 24 hours now.

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions and recommendations.

I use GFX writer it. You just have to import a blank(without text) graphic image -there are lots of plr ones around you can get for a couple of dollars- you can then add your text and manipulate it so it looks good.

I have about 6 of Big Mike's programmes; they're excellent.
