Guys and gals,

I need to push my site up in the rankings for Accountants Witney and have decided to attempt using articles.

I need a stratergy and would like to ask your advice.

How many article will I need?

Where should I submit the articles?

Once I have submitted them, do I have to do anything else like bookmark them?

Have you got any tips on creating a reseource box?

Hope you can help...

    Hey there,

Well I would imagine that since your topic is local and specific, you will not have to overcome much competition.

Just pick a "long tail" keyword that you want your site to promote: "witney accountants".

Use this term once in the title, once in the first paragraph, once in the body (at least, but don't spam it obviously), and once in the last paragraph.

I'd make the article 450 words max.

In the resource box make sure you use an anchor link with your keyword: "witney accountants".

You could probably write an article for each of the keywords you want and then submit them to ezinearticles. My question is...why do you need to write the articles? I guess if your city is large enough the competition might be tough, but I'd imagine it can't be too hard to rank on page one of google for local keywords with decent onsite SEO.

You could offer the articles as part of the package too I guess.

    HTH,

    Jim

I'd start with the 'biggies' - ezinearticles and goarticles. Make sure you submit different versions of the article to each place.

Just as made mention, you can create squidoo lenses and hubpages for your articles, aside form which bookmarking them is really very helpful, you can digg them, propped and stumble them too.

What keywords are the currently ranking low for that you want to help drive up the ranking on? Knowing that would help a little bit.

If it's somewhat of a 'shot in the dark' approach, start off with relevant keyword research. Check the competing pages and backlinks of the top ranked pages for that keyword phrase.

Want to find out how many backlinks a page has? Just enter a competing websites URL at Backlinks Checker Tool - Backlink Watch, and you'll know just how many links you'll need to take the top spot.

All 15 keywords that I am going for are close to the bottom of the page at Witney Accountants | Accountants in Witney Oxfordshire - I dont really want to post them directly here as this thread may show up in the serps.
