Building a liste in the health niche

Would it be possible to make a dent in building a list in the healthy niche or would it be more advised to go for a sub health niche?

What would be the best way to get leads for a health related niche?

Thanks,

"Healthy" is kind of vague. You might be best off with a sub-niche. Couple examples are healthy eating, diets (i.e. WeightWatchers or diets in general, as in, low carb, high protein, etc), maybe organic??

As previously stated, definitely choose a sub niche. But most importantly have something to OFFER. What kind of value can you give to this sub-niche once you find it?

You should definitely do you research into which keywords you can compete for. This will undoubtedly lead you to a sub or micro niche. Once you get this then provide a good report of value that addresses the sub-niches particular concerns.

    thanks guys,

I was thinking of getting a ebook written on something and then keep providing good info with a few affiliate links sprinkled in...

My main question right now is to what are the best traffic sources for opt-ins for a health related niche... I don't want to focus on getting traffic from search engines...

Forum sig might be out of the question because most health related forums ban people who do that.... So i guess starting out with some solo ads?

what would be the other options?

    One more thing tho,

Let's say I would create a 6 part email course on how to get healthy, providing real solid value! And then following ups with more good info with some affiliate links in there.

If someone already has a health related list and I would get some solo ads, would people really go for yet another guy who was some health tips? Is it really that easy?

You really would want to get more laser focused than "get healthy tips". Let's face it, it would be hard to compete with Prevention Magazine, Shape, and other sites that offer tons of free Get Healtlhy newsletters, authority websites etc.

So drill down into your healthy living and find one little aspect you can focus on that is broad enough to write about but narrow enough that you can really find your place.

This is how you will make the sales.

Perhaps the most effective way to crack this niche is to write syndicated articles for related ezines, blogs/websites and offline publications such as specialist journals, magazines, and association newsletters.

It's possible. It's competitive like the "internet marketing" niche. But if you become a power marketer and put your traffic generation strategies on steriods... i'm confident that you can make it work.

The experience of one of my clients: "Health" is way too broad for you to attack, just starting out.

You will probably need to find some much smaller, micro-niches in the health field to get any traction...and there actually are quite a few. Personally, I'd write or have written good quality articles and look to getting them syndicated. That would be one good way to get traffic.

Sure - this can work very well...you do need to focus in on very specific problems and dessires though, getting "healthy" means nothing to the person that wants to lose belly fat, grow taller, or build abdominal muscles (hint, hint, hint....)

Spend some time on discussion forums and watch the threads that get read and that attract the most participation (hint#2, hint#2, hint#2) - then test some articles, blog posts, videos or content to make sure they attract people (you probably want to link this to either an opt-in offer (report, video, etc...) or an affiliate product to start with.

The key in the first month or so is to find your hot sub-niche among the noise and then run with it by building a list around it, creating products, etc...
