I'm Green But I Have a Motivation. Looking for Guidance.

Hello!

My name is Tyler and I have not earned a dime on the internet but I believe that I can. I don't have visions of boatloads cash sailing in with no work on my part. I know it will take work and I welcome it.

My question is, what should someone completely new to this world be primarily focusing on in the beginning? I have been spending hours upon hours doing research and learning as much as I can. I have my ideas on paper and I am going to spend all of tomorrow getting my sites live.

I do have a product to sell. I have already started one site beats4weeksdotcom(I am not yet allowed to post links, sorry) I am a musician and music producer and this site is my first attempt at selling my instrumentals to recording artists. Do any of you have any ideas on how to implement traditional internet marketing concepts into this business? I have made the unfortunate mistake of spending money on "beats selling" products featuring more filler and rambling than real information. Just wondered what your thoughts where.

The sites I am setting up tomorrow will be for my first affiliate campaigns. I have done some research on clickbank and have chosen some products to experiment with.

I am not a quitter. I thrive on hard work, however because I have not yet made any money online there is often a voice in the back of my mind when I am in the middle of a task on line saying "Am I wasting my time with this right now? Should I be focusing on something else?" I suppose that is primarily the question I am seeking advice for.

If anyone has any helpful hints or tips, or even just words of encouragement, I would be thrilled to read them.

Thanks a million in advance. So happy I signed up here.

-Tyler

First thing to do is find one successful person in your field. And model after him.
Don't focus on 20 different people to learn from. Focus on just one.

For you, I would recommend Paul Wolfe. He makes money from a website about bass guitar. And he writes about his strategies and tactics on: One Spoon At A Time

Stalk Paul. Learn from everything he has done. Start a conversation with him and learn a bit more. And do exactly what he did to achieve success.

The biggest road block for you right now is distractions. If you try to do a lot of different things together, you will get nowhere. So focus on one teacher. One model. One website.

You know the attribute of not being a quitter and thriving on hard work is essential if you want to succeed, so good on you

also its essential to not listen to the little voice telling you you're wasting time and should be doing something else.
I can tell you from experience that you can do it and this is a very rewarding path if you're prepared to put in the hard work and follow your goals and dreams. All the best and be sure to post how things are going

You're absolutely right with the point about distractions. I've gotten swept up in so much information in the past week. I spent a little money on the "Marketing With Anik" membership site. There is a lot information there though I can't say whether or not its relevant yet. If anything it is giving some motivation.

Thank you so much for the link. I have bookmarked the site and will be studying it. I really do appreciate the advice.

It is a wild ride and so much to learn but stick it out.

      Good luck
      Thank you for the encouragement!

Ok I'm going to go against popular feedback on this one and andise you to learn software creation.

The reason for this is that most techies make bad marketers and most marketers make bad techies. If you can bridge it and create automation tools purely for yourself, then as the skills in marketing develop, your tools will be able to provide with the "no work" income you require.

Are you suggesting that I learn programming and code my own applications? That is something i'm afraid I don't think I would be very good at. Anything beyond elementary html editing gives me headache just to look at haha, though maybe I was wrong and missed what you where saying. Thank you for the reply!

Haha yes that's exactly what I was saying. VB is fairly user friendly and some would say easier than HTML

You don't have to learn programming if you are not going to enjoy it or if its not your cup of tea.

Once you start making decent money you will end up outsourcing things you are not good at or don't enjoy doing. And there are already few automation tools around.

Learning programming and creating software products can take time. But if you are into technical things or excited to learn programming go for it! Its awesome and very satisfying .

Use your time wisely. A successful businessman delegates work to the right people!

            Good luck!
