What happens to an unused paypal account?

INTERNET MARKETING

The credit card which I integrated to my paypal account was closed two years ago. I haven't used my account since then. I lost my password and couldn't achieved to get a new one.
So what happens to an inactive account?
Does paypal charge for an unused account?

I've read about people receiving emails stating that their account will be closed due to inactivity but in all the cases I've come across the users' accounts are still used and they are informed by Paypal that no such notification was sent. Whether or not their is an expiry date to paypal accounts is something I'm not really clear about. But I'm quite certain that Paypal will not charge you any fees as a result of inactivity.

There's no way that they CAN charge you if the card the account is linked to has expired.
