How do I protect affiliate links in an PDF file?

Hi,

I want to distribute some E-books in PDF format.
Inside I have some affiliate links.

Does anybody know how I can protect these affiliate links.

I don't want somebody changes my affiliate links in this book to his/her affiliate links and then distribute it further.

Your help is very welcome,

Isaan

I would expect anytime you have an editable document that would be a risk. Probably making the links into an image might help some.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

I think you mean cloak my files correct....lol

Just open up a notepad insert your hop link into the already made PHP redirect script, upload it to domain paste the url in your viral pdf.

Simply as baking apple pie if you don't have the script or you need it ask around or look at it up in Google or simply PM me

I just released a free WSO of a PDF with affiliate links.

What I did to protect my links was "lock" the PDF. I created mine in OpenOffice Writer and exported as a PDF. During the exporting process you can set a password that will lock the content and prevent others from editing it.

I am sure there are some hacks that will unlock it but most people won't go through the trouble. Part of my WSO was rebranding the report with their links so they probably weren't trying to hack mine anyway.

What you're asking is kind of impossible as far as I know. I doubt there's a way to hide it/make it impossible to edit it and still have it working like it should.

But I think there is ways to "lock" your PDF file so that it can't be converted to other formats, and therefore can't be edited. But I got no idea how this works if it's even possible.

Edit: How would redirecting solve the problem? They can just go through the redirect and then they are at the product you promote and can get their own link.

You right its almost impossible to get around this i mean if you view the buy now page or affiliate page the affiliate code is seen no matter what

Thank you all for your response.

I think the method described by Ace Of Shirts is the best option for me.

        Thanks a lot,

        Isaan
