Registration with Wordpress theme

Hi there

This is for wordpress platform only....
I would like to create a site that will allow certain users to login with a username and password that I provide, or one they create on their own, then be redirected to their personal page where they can view information/messages that are specifically tailored to them and no one else. I would also like them to be able to view, print, and download files that I place in their personal directories that only they have access to. And all of this should be done securely.

    A bit misleading title you have there...

    No need for any specific theme to register with WP: just go > Settings > General: Members - and check the "anyone can register" box. WP will generate a pw for them (they can change it after the first login).

    However, the second part of your requirements, namely to have "personal folders" for each user, with messages, files etc. accessible ONLY for one respective user... not likely to be doable in/with WP.

    Even the membership plugins/tweaks are working on a user group base or 'membership levels' - not by individuals.

    What you want sounds like a very specific "membership"-type setup... although my experience tells me I should ask a lot of questions to figure out what you REALLY want.

    Sorry, but in most of the cases, the user (=you in this case) thinks he figured out the solution and needs to ask "only" a few technical questions. But the truth is: the developer should ask back the right question: forget WP, forget technical details - tell me WHAT is the end result, the ultimate goal you want to achieve. Don't tell me about CMS or methods or ways to do it. The client (in lack of better word) should just tell what is it what they want. Let the developers tell you HOW to get it

    P.S. You don't have to answer those questions publicly if you don't want to. I am just trying to illustrate that many times the approach could be faulty, so give it a second thought...

    You will need a membership site for this...wordpress can't help you there.
