I realize there are a lot of marketers like to use those "popping out" image text instead of text. Some even use a just one image as their sales page.

which do you prefer? I prefer a mixture of original text and image text, I really like highlightings text when i reads.

I don't really mind either way - I like to focus more on the content

However, I find highlighted/bolded text visually appealing if not used excessively and as long as it emphasises the most important points the marketer wishes to make.

I'm not sure what you are referring to as 'popping out' text? In my opinion if you are going to use images then only use images, if you are going to use bb code for your text then only use bb code for your text. A combination of the two just look unprofessional and mis-matched in my opinion.

I think an image-based sales thread might look cool, but they probably lack organic traffic. Or at least I think they would. Think about it:

No content = no search ranking.

People focus on their graphics so much, that they forget to make sure some of their content is exactly that - content.

Not just a few images that are embedded into the thread. Bots cant tell what the image says.

I dont know about you, but a LOT of my customers find me on google/yahoo/bing & stuff through organic searches. Without the words actually being typed on the pages, they probably wouldn't have found me.

If you're only using embedded graphics, then you're only targeting a fraction of the market..

So ya.. thats just what I think on this subject.

Off topic, but anyone have a PS3 & Modern Warfare 3? If so add me, PSN is WhosThatGuru

haha I'm off to play that for a bit, just send a friend request!

This is actually a very good point. Allthough I highly prefer images because they look so much better and are more appealing to read through, most of the times at least.

So it's kind of 50/50 on which to go for. I as a customer always prefer images (assuming they are not some "quick crap")

Just make sure that your graphics do not overshadow the content. You do not want people to think you are masking a sub-quality product with graphics. That probably isn't the case, but just keep that in mind when developing your sales copy and page.

Also think about display on mobile devices.

Time it takes to load and also legibility of text when 'pinched'.

One thing that bugs me to death is slow load times and I can exit within moments if it doesn't load.

A balance of both is what I'd say
