Internet Marketing - What's Worth Spending Money In?

Hey guys

I have recently gotten involved in internet marketing. I'm learning many of the free avenues that are out there to promote my business; blogs, myspace, youtube, twitter, etc. But I've heard over and over again how putting money into it is FAR more effective.

So my question is......where's the best place to put it? All I know of that's effective and that I'm told is the best is PPC. But what do you guys think? What are the most effective ways for internet marketing that costs $?

Thanks,
Nick

PPC - but make sure you learn about it before hand.

Other than that there are some great offers out there. Things like DLGuard and RapidActionProfits and well worth the dosh in my opinion.

You should check out Google Site Placement Advertising Program.

    - You place your ads on sites that relate to your offer.
    - keywords do not matter.
    - impressions of your ad start as low as 25 cents per thousand impressions

If you don't already have a google adwords account, do a search for a free $50 coupon and experiment with the site placement program.

    - Do a search on the net for how to's on google site placement program and that will get you the how to info you need.

It's very much set it and forget it marketing once you get a product working for you.

    Hope This Helps!!

    Books.

Go straight to Amazon, find anything by Seth Godin, Mark Joyner, Jeffrey Gitomer, Joel Comm, Al Ries, Robert Allen or any best selling business author.

Best investment you can make, but only if you take action on the strategies discussed in the books.

Generating traffic by these means (web 2.0 style) does work and helps with search engine rankings too but this type of traffic doesn't really convert well into buyers: Not that I am suggesting it wont get you any buyers, it is certainly worth doing because as you say it is free, much the same as article marketing.

PPC in my experience and that of others I know does generate "pre-qualified" traffic more likely to part with their cash if your marketing system is set up right.

You can also get a quick statistical analysis of your click thru, sign-ups and sales which will help you effectively measure your converstion rates.

Remember at this stage you will be spending money to aquire opt-ins and buyers but may not neccessarily make an instant profit.

The best business plan I've seen in years is: Confessions of a Lazy Super Affiliate by Chris Rempel. Lots of methods to generate free traffic and a truly workable plan for affiliate marketing. There's more meat in the sales page than you'll find in most ebooks.

Take a look at the link (not an affiliate link) in my sig for a detailed review of the book. Good luck!

I'd say whatever you spend money on will be worth it if you

      (1) Do your homework and actually know what you are buying

      and

      (2) USE IT

I agree with travlinguy. I think this one ebook alone can help you to succeed in affiliate marketing.

ppc, hosting, autoresponder, business books, and self help books, is where I spend most of my money.

I purchase some of the make money online programs, but just to find gold nuggets of information.

I do not pay for any advertising, and I am in 2nd position on Google.

Take a look, search 10k matrix, you will find my squidoo lens in 2nd position. I have yet to pay for any advertising.

It only took about 2 weeks to get there, and no money, so I do not think that is to bad.

Take a look, rate and comment while you are there.

    Thanks,
