This Post Could Change Your Life

Hello fellow warriors I hope everyone is doing well. I'm in a very productive mood tonight and as I was working a thought popped into my head. The thought was about how I completely changed my mindset from a prospect to a marketer. From a buyer to a seller.

A couple of months back I read an amazing book called Awaken The Giant Within by Tony Robbins. If you have never read anything by him I hope this post will inspire you to change that. At the end of one of the chapter he lays out the 4 most important questions you can ask yourself about something you want to change in your life. Im going to give you those questions and also my responses that I wrote down. I keep them by my desk so I will never forget them. I related these questions to my inactivity in IM.

1. Why have I not taken action in the past? What pain have I linked to taking action?
I feel like I cant do it and that Im just not good or smart enough. I feel so lost and Im afraid of going broke. I have linked doubt and the fear of failure due to my inaction.

2. What is the pleasure I have indulged in my negative pattern?
I browse forums dreaming about making it big. I am "relaxing" my days away. I view myself having success but never achieve it

3. What will it cost me if I dont change?
I will continue working at my dead end minimum wage job. I wont be able to help my family with their medical bills. I will feel shame and disappointment in letting myself down by not even giving an honest effort. I will feel so much regret in the future. I will never be free from working day in and day out. It will hurt the confidence I have in myself of being able to achieve.

4. What will I receive if I change?
I can achieve independence and freedom. I can pursue my loves such as travel and writing music and talking to beautiful women. I will be able to bring so much more fun into my life with the added resources of time and money. I will grow in leaps and bounds and my self esteem will soar.
These are the exact things I wrote down. They are personal so I debated whether or not I should post this but it will be worth it if I can get you to ask yourself these same questions in any area of you life. I hope they treat you as well as they have treated me.

Bold statement and after reading it may actually be true.

Thank your sharing your answers and sharing this post, I have a feeling that fear of failure and even fear of success are going to be common answers to these questions. Of course as we all now fear is one powerful motivator.

I guess what he aims for in these questions is to make us realize that and force ourselves to start moving.

    Great post

Good post. When I've felt down in the past, I've thought about that to keep me going. The question "what if" is ubiquitous.

Yes, these principles changed many a marketers business in the 1990's when Robbins was hot on the scene.

Now we're repeating the cycles, but the online revolution enables more marketers to reach more people in less time.

I used direct response techniques in local newspaper ads to drive traffic to recorded phone messages. These automatic marketing machines would suck in leads from people who'd leave their name and number 24 hours a day. Built a huge business with this in the early 90's. Now we do this online.

Seems like the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Tony Robbins is a quite remarkable man. I would recommend his books and CDs and also his live seminars. I went to one (called UPW - Unleash the Power Within) where you walk barefoot for about 15 feet on burning coals (temperature is above that of molten aluminum). When you look back on that, most other challenges seem quite trivial.

The funny thing is most people will laugh and make fun of tony robbins.. I hate reading.. and I read that book cover to cover like 15 times.. I just couldnt put it down. Yes i can look to the left of my desk right now..

    <<--- over there...

and ive got all his cd's also. Great post and ive recommended this book and him for years.

The funny thing is... most people dont take action, will think your nuts, then ask you how you make so much money or how your doing it.

    Go Read The Book
    Thx

"Awaken The Giant Within" by Robbins was actually one of his best books, imo.
There's really quite a bit of 'meat' in it, and some portions distill down his core message as well any of his longer dvds, cds or seminars.
