Okay, this debate has been going on for like, ages. So I'm looking to get some hard data if anyone has it. The question is: What works best to build a responsive list? One school of thought says you give away a ton of valuable content. Folk like Frank Kern, Brad Fallon and Andy Jenkins line up on that side of the debate [and who can argue with those guys]. The other school of thought says you only want to market to people that are proven "buyers"...so everyone on your list needs to pay something to be there. This is all the "Funded Proposal and "$1 Trial" marketers. They both work...I know that. I'm just trying to get some idea of the differences in opt-in and conversion rates. All help and data is appreciated. |

I don't think the answer is going to be as cut and dried as the question. Variables will include a number of things such as: 1) What you are selling. 2) Your market/niche 3) Your budget and quite a bit more. The stats from a weightloss campaign won't line up with or be relevant to the stats from a financial advisor campaign. The only relevant stats are those that apply to YOUR situation and your own campaigns. |

It would be great to see stats from different techniques, but alas, there aren't many that track well and even fewer (none) willing to share the results. In my opinion, which flavor resonates with you more? Either will be good if they are done, but there is going to be a style or technique that just works well with you. Thats where you will see the best results. " There is NO best martial art... only the best martial artists. " Ron |

Hi, I would answer you, but I can't because I don't want to encourage others to use forum titles like this - Quote:

| Okay Brian...duly noted. So which side of this tactic equation do you line up in your business...and why primarily?? I am in financials, BTW.

Is that basically your feeling?? I was hoping there might be someone willing to say "I've tried both, and here are the results I got." Not expecting anyone to divulge their markets or anything. Just some unbiased reporting of: I got "x" with a "Freeline" strategy and "y" with a "Funded Proposal", free trial, $1 trial, etc, strategy. | |
