Just take action, it isn't as hard as it seems.

I wanted to share with the warrior forum, what I have accomplished over the last 2 days.

1. I designed my first ever ebook, a guide meant to help new internet marketers focus on what matters when building sites. You can see it here: realinternetpower . com/Real_Internet_Power_Free_Report.pdf

2. I registered an aWeber account and started my first ever opt in list (For the Im market)

3. I added a sign up form with some custom copy to my website REAL INTERNET POWER

Now, is my ebook the greatest? No, but it is free!

Is my opt in list loaded with an autoresponder series? Nope, in fact, the only email in the series is the email that directs you to the ebook listed above.

And finally, does my opt in form even look good? Is it optimized at all? Hell no.

But you know what? In 2 days, I created a 23 page info product, set up an opt in, created a squeeze for that optin (of sorts) and leveraged my free ebook to incentivize that opt in.

What have you done the last 2 days?

It's time to stop reading and start doing if you aren't already, warriors. I promise its easier than you could ever imagine.

I would think that topics like this would be more appropriate in the "Success, Power, Self-Improvement" forum, but thanks for sharing. As they say, taking action is the first step.

I would think this topic is absolutely perfect for the main forum, right where the OP put it.

The op isn't giving encouragement .. they are spelling out what you can accomplish if you set out to do something and don't waiver.

Very impressive! That took you only 2 days, and some would stretch that out for weeks! I find I waste more time online than doing what I need to do - too many distractions.

Didn't mean to ruffle any feathers - but the fact remains, there are many new internet marketers on these boards who are PARALYZED. They just don't know what to do, whether to do it, when to do it, if they should do it, will it work, what if it doesn't work, what if it does?

Well, it is these people who my post is for. My point is that, instead of planning to the umpteenth degree, just jump in and get your feet wet.

Maybe you learn Young And Opulent by meticulously planning every little detail. And maybe that works for you.

But for a lot of people around here - that doesn't work. What does work, is taking action.

Sorry if that doesn't match your opinion of how making money online should work.

I bet if you took 2 hours to sit down, and write out everything you know about a particular internet marketing subject, you could create a great guide or plan. Most people undersell their own understandings of a given subject...

To 99% of the world, even the least informed person on the WF knows a great deal about Internet Marketing.

        Bitriot,

I totally agree with your comment and it is frustrating when newbies often complain that they cannot create their own product or don't know enough about IM. After all how many WSO's and other info products have they pruchased or downloaded for free!! I beleive it often has more to do with self confidence than a lack of knowledge??

        cheers

        Anton

Of course he's on the right track. But I'm sure he didn't just throw darts at a board. I'm sure he made sure his facts were right and that he had a solid plan before executing. I can tell by reading what he typed. I'm basically speaking my mind in reference to those "just take action" threads that tell a person to forget thinking, forget planning, forget research...just act. That's a recipe for disaster.
I understand what you are saying - but you keep saying it in multiple threads. If you take the wrong action - you can go back and fix it. If you never put a buy button online - you can't sell a thing. It doesn't have to be a perfect button - but it has to BE there.

Or you can spend months "learning" - which for many who post here seems to be reading one WSO sales page after another. You'll learn more by doing something - even if you have to redo it later.

Two of my least favorite overused phrases are "just take action" and "multiple streams of income". Oh, yes, then there is the "eggs and baskets" thingie, too.

Realistically - you need to take the right action, get one income stream going first, and put one egg into the basket before shopping for more baskets.:p

There is a process that works.

-Watch wp videos and set up a blog as you go following the instructions for each step.
-Get an autoresponder, learn it, do it.
          etc.

The learning doesn't help if you don't also use what you learned. I think it's great the OP dug in and DID something. The feeling of accomplishment is enough to motivate him to DO more.

Kudos to you for taking action. You certainly got more accomplished in the last 2 days than I did. Keep it up, and don't let the negative people (you know who you are) get you down.

I'm with Bitriot....just get on with it and do it.

Yeah, the "just take action" is overused a lot but it is still relevant. A lot of folks have analysis paralysis... just friggin' do it.

A lot of people sit around bitching and moaning about how things never go their way or have these crazy dreams of internet sucess that they never really pursue they just sit around talking about it. I know the type. I completely agree with the OP. Some of my best sites have come together overnight.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[5698238].message }}
  • Exactly! I've noticed that my most productive days are the ones where I take massive action. Every single time I do this, I end up achieving loads.
If people just realized this, they would achieve so much more in life!

I agree action speaks louder than words. Its important to make a plan and get busy in implementing it without delay and without leaving it incomplete.

I must say, I agree with this 100%. Two years ago, I kept seeing this "just take action" message over and over on DP and Sitepoint and I HAVE taken action, investing in several sites, including domains, content, graphic design, backlinks, etc. Long story short: Total loss = $1100 and no income. If I had waited and read DP, Sitepoint and WF, asked questions, found a mentor, etc., that $1000 investment would be worth thousands today.
It took me nearly a year to learn what to do and what not to do in IM... and I'm still just starting out.

It seems that many of us have to learn this the hard way. What I mean by that is that many people seem to go through an initial period when they are looking for that one secret that is going to solve everything for them. Eventually, one way or the other, most people seem to come to terms with the truth, and that is that you have to put a lot of effort and time into this.
