Everybody should get a coach?

See, when you go for higher studies, you have teachers who teach u things. In the same way, in Internet marketing people say U need to have a guru/mentor to teach you how you wanna learn and earn!

You can choose SEO, Affiliate marketing, Amazon, clickbank, Fan page designing, CPA or any other method to earn money, but what you need is guidance .

Instead of looking for a mentor, take suggestions from people what WSO'S you should read.
Out of Ten, buy two of them. In war room, you will find a large number of free books as well, but U need to be a war room member!

Thats it, read them, take action read more, experiment.

Yes you should, but not just any coach - a great coach.

Little known fact - I worked (employment) for the CEO of Europe's largest retail firm. Part of the deal was that he was my mentor (lucky break).

EVERY single person from 3 third level manager upwards (about 300 managers) had a coach...

When business is progressing you will face new challenges every day. You can walk through wasting time trying to figure it all out yourself, or have an experienced coach who helps you quickly cut through the crap and understand what is happening.

Those that really want their business to progress fast, should get a coach that has the life that you want to have. Someone who can help them progress even faster when business becomes complicated - because at high incomes it does become complicated.

I coach marketers all the time, but they are marketers who really want to be the best in the industry....

If you want to take the time to figure it all out yourself and go at a slower pace then of course you can do it all on your own. A coach or a 'good coach' can definitely increase your chances of business success.

It's very hard to do something you have not done before. Especially when it can be challenging to your belief systems and existing experiences. You need a coach or mentor that has been there and done that because he knows what is possible and can point you in the right direction.

Another thing is that it is also very hard to keep your focus when things get tough (and they WILL get tough, believe me). You will get off track, get sidetracked, your belief system will put up a fight as to what is possible and not because it does not have the experience of success on the level that you are trying to create yet.

When that happens it will try to convince you that what you are doing right now is wrong, that it does not work, and that you should try something else before you waste too much time. That is why most people jump from thing to thing and try everything half heartedly before they even succeed in one of them. Their belief system is trying to protect them from failure by creating emotions and feelings that make you think the right thing is to start something else.

A coach has the success experience you are lacking, either from his own experience by actually doing it himself in the past (a mentor) or by coaching other through to success (a coach), and can guide you onto the right path according to your level of experience and make you believe that it is really possible. A coach can also kick your butt and push you through to your next small or big success, so you can start adjusting your belief system into believing it really is possible.

That's when things start happening.

If you have already had success, big or small, and run into things that block your way to even bigger successes, a coach can help you see the solutions and guide you around those blocks, so you can see the road ahead much more clearly.

Having a coach would help with the long nights of learning this industry. But do your search when finding a GOOD coach. Make sure you find someone that you feel has the skills that you would like to learn.

It really depends on what type of coach you want as well. Are they a CPA marketing coach, a information marketing coach, PPC coach, or a general marketing coach. There are coaches all over this forum that would be willing to help you.

Well if they are a decent coach, then you would have the same function that any coach in any other industry/field would have.
They will assist you and help you with problems you are having.
Ideally they will show you how they would do something, and then try guide you towards doing the same.

Coaching can definitely work, but the trick is to find the right one.

The only difference between you and your coach is that your coach is already making thousands of dollars per month. Coaches are good for teaching people daily habits. When you're around your coach each day, especially face to face, you begin to develop winning habits that change your attitude and work ethic. Those aspects alone are enough to skyrocket your productivity.

You don't need mentor. You need friends if you want to be successful in IM industry.

Firstly, a coach and a mentor are two different things. A coach takes you step by step through processes, like a guide holding your hard through a maze when it's pitch black.

A mentor is a psychological aid, someone to pick you up when you're down and who trains your mind to be successful.

Neither are necessary for everyone, but thee are people who could learn from either or both. Only you can answer your question.

You don't need a coach. The best knowledge you can gain is from working hard yourself, failing a couple times, figuring out what works, etc. Dont waste your money.

I believe in creating your mastermind group of friends, coaches, mentors, etc. Build the network that supports your life, your business goals, and inspires you to work hard everyday and strive to reach new heights.

If you need someone to be there for you to help at anytime, a coach can do that. And you can ask them specific questions and they can provide you with in depth info in certain areas.

You dont need one. But you could use one.

I see some controversial replies here, the idea of having a coach, mentor call it what ever you like is to fast track your success.

If you are not earning 5 figures per month and that is your aim, a great mentor who has the results you want is worth listening to.

If you have someone who can tell you exactly what to do to reach your goals then obviously you will achieve them much faster.

So many coaches here regurgitate what they heard to be true, and what used to be jammed down our throats in written format is now parceled as a coaching program??

My advice - don't ever hire a coach until you have tons of background info on that person, and they are vouched for by many other people and you can see proof of their success.

Their coaching program should also be different than their information products (if they have any). If they are simply spewing what they already spewed in an ebook you bought from them for $27, get a refund.

Some marketers sell coaching programs that are nothing but automated info delivery systems (i.e. no personal coaching!), and I suspect a few customers don't understand what a coaching program entails so they swallow it.

Well, these are all very interesting answers, as varied as they are. Thanks. I was intrigued with the concept because the very act of using a mentor or coach seems to contradict the independent nature of entrepreneurship (which I've assumed is everyone's goal here).

I understand we all need advice or even guidance at times, but I have to wonder... with coaches relying on consumer dependency as a profitable business model, do they truly teach entrepreneurship (including independence from their services)? I.E., Do coaches teach a man to fish, or do they merely serve up a costly dish of sushi?

I think I'll look into this more deeply.

Learning the rule of online marketing from the guru is very important.

It's hard to find a good coach!

There are things you know.

Things you know you don't know.

And things you don't know you don't know. Coaches exist for this reason.

There might be something you are TOTALLY UNAWARE OF that is sabotaging you, could take years to discover, that only a good coach could show you quickly.

That is why you need a coach. Even just someone who Skypes with you now and again.

I think a coach can be beneficial if you are the type of person that needs a push from someone and a strict schedule to follow.
If you are the type of person who enjoys learning on their own and can remain focussed then a coach may not be right for you.

I think it totally depends on your personality. Are you the kind of person who would benefit from being motivated and pushed around? Or do you enjoy figuring out and learning on your own pace?

There are pros and cons to having coaching. (mostly pros though)

A coach accelerates your journey to 'stardom', reduces your learning curve and motivates you.

How did you learn to write and read? If you are like most of us, you were taught. That's the same thing a coach can do for you.

Now here is another twist. You can choose someone in your niche whom you would want his mentor-ship. You don't need to approach him, but as a first step you read all his posts, blogs, watch his YouTube videos and anything you can find free online. You will get much more than not following one particular person.

Mentors and coaches come in all sizes and shapes, often from unusual places. My suggestion is that you find someone who has done the hard work and ask them to help you.
The key is that there must be something, other than helping their fellow man, that will produce a compelling result for them.
For example, you can and should be ready to give up a lot of sweat and more than a lot of your profits to a potential mentor/coach in the IM space. a good JV is a starting point where you can start to develop your brand and a good coaching relationship would be one where your coach's earnings split will reduce as you hit certain threshholds, either financial, list size or timeline. In this way, you can move away from your coach over time.
Unless you are working one on one with Tony Robbins, you should NOT have to pay a fortune up front for a good coach.

I have to say, coaches were a very major part of my early success online...not sure I would have continued without them.

I had one coach that helped with crafting my messages and copywriting - that alone taught me so much and since then I have continued to improve and test on my own sites and even teach others (now that I have over 10-years experience myself).

The advantage - in this case, my sales went up by 3X in just two months based on tweaking my messaging and copy exactly the result of this coach...that's why a coach can be important.

What you want to have is a clear plan for your business and then you can find coaches that specialize in what you need help with a each step of the way. I prefer to have a coach for specific functions (getting traffic, affiliate marketing, info publishing, list building, copywriting and conversion) than a general coach who hasn't really mastered any of these.

Let me tell you the harsh reality of what I observed, 99% of people will never get a coach. Why I have no idea, but they will not probably money or they don't want to admit they need help or whatever. 100% of the 200+ successful people I know each and every one has a coach. I had tons and will. So that is what I observed and believe ti's true.

A good mentor is key to being successful especially when first starting out.
