Why Internet Marketing As Your Resort? Why Not Something Else?

I'm curious... Many people tell me they go into internet marketing because they have faith in it... and eventually they do have fabulous results...

So I'm wondering about the attractiveness of IM as a whole...

What urgent problem did you have when you turned towards IM as an alternative income?

Did you really have a problem, or were you just curious?
Were you sweating and in such urgent need to get an internet income?
Was working in a 9 to 5 job really that bad?
Was freedom really that limited?
Was your income not enough to support your household?
Is this just a selfish passion?
Just a curious venture?

I'd love to hear what Warriors say about this.

I have a lot in my mind but I don't want to affect your opinions, so I'll post my side of the story later on.

20 years ago I started when I sold a niche adult website to a network. It just kind of happened, I was in the right place at the right time with the right product.

I didn't have problems, was working at the time and internet marketing was at an embryonic stage.

Luck played it's part but since then I was hooked.

For me, I've been dabbling in direct response marketing for while and decided that the internet was a great place for leverage.

That's the long story short of how I got into internet marketing instead of anything else.

I got into IM years ago when I was a teenager just trying to make some money online. I chose to do IM at the time because it was possible to start a business with little capital (e.g. didn't need to hire an office, purchase stock, etc), and I didn't really have much capital back when I was a teenager.

Well. I started in the IM niche back in December, 2011. So I've been around for very short time. It all started with me searching for someone who paid for online game play. Like CPT, x$ per 1000 games played on various flash games. Then I somehow found a banner promoting SFI - me being curious I gave it a shot. Got more curious, and loved the idea of making money on other peoples effort. And here I sit, super selfish but ready to do mine to help people. And I like the idea of having freedom.
On the other hand, IM is mainly supposed to be a starter for more projects. I'd love to have parts in several companies and stuff, so I got an income from various places. Giving me a fatter bank account, and a chance to prove people wrong saying that I'd never go anywhere. Love to bust peoples beliefs.

The main reason is because of the comfort working at home and there is a huge margin of flexibility. You don't have to report for work and you can decide your own working hours. However, that comes with the price of not having people to supervise your progress. Many people turn to internet marketing simply because they wanted to spend more time with their loved ones.

I enjoy the freedom, and dreaded the 9-5. IM simply suits my ideal lifestyle.

I realized that I was spending too much time at work and in traffic to and from work. I wanted spend more time with my family. Now I work when they are in school and for about 1 hour after they go to bed. I am glad that my kids are not spending a lot of time in after school care, the trade off is now I have to help them with their homework.
