The Warrior Forum is Everywhere ...

Funny story (small world). I am sitting in my small town public library and as is usually the case, I get distracted. I put my RN (Geriatrics class) books aside to see what is going on in the WF. A few minutes later, a short man with a thick Russian accent leans toward me and whispers in my right ear, "You are an internet marketer ... Yes?" I smile and nod in agreement. We talked for the next thirty minutes and I was late for class. As I was driving to school I was thinking about how small this world is and how cool it is to be a Warrior.

I used to think that being known on this forum meant that you are known throughout the industry. That's until I started going to the big IM seminars and realized how dumb I sounded saying "I'm Ron from the Warrior Forum" LOL.

Warrior fame is great and all but the marketplace is so much bigger than this place.

Yea you're right. A lot of the big dogs don't even hang out here. It's cool that some of them do though

Cool story. I just started with IM and I always think it would be cool to run into another IMer out there... Most of the people I talk to have no idea about IM. I live in San Diego and from what I was told there are a lot of IMers out here... I'll see one around somewhere...

San Diego is home to Kern, Moffatt and some other well known IMers. Ron, your right. I have realized that over time as well.

It's a big forum, thats for sure. But whenever I mention it to non-internet marketers all they think is it's some kind of gaming site! "warrior" name I guess.

It's like any area of expertise, really. I mean you can't expect someone to understand what we are doing if they've never come in contact with it before. There is so much we have to learn to become online marketers, and like with any subject, you soon find it hard to talk to "normal" people about it (:

Awesome story, by the way! I love the Internet marketing community.

A similar story but different forum. I was a member of a writer's forum that is rather popular. I posted on a regular basis, probably two or three times a day.

I attended a major book publishing trade show in New York as a guest of my publisher. I was to give a speech during one of the show segments. Anyway. I was sitting at a table with about 10 other people during a luncheon. I turned to ask the person next to me a question. She looked at me, looked at my name badge and then said Oh my gawd you're Dee Power from XXXX writer's forum! So you never know ...

That's funny. I was creeped out at first and wondering who the heck was whispering in my ear. All and all, it's a cool community.

I was at a cafe last year watching some guy on his laptop messing around with Market Samurai. I walked over and introduced myself, then got his card and had a coffee.

He too was a Warrior. Small world.

I met a fellow warrior offering a Contest Burner campaign to my web programming client...

He got the $2,000 contract, came into the office (New Jersey), I was asked to be there to set up the contest, and the client got confused when the fellow warrior and I started talking about Jeff Walker, Kern, Stompernet, Market Samurai, backlinks.. lol... sounded Greek to him..

The client said "did you know each other before?" lol.

It's my first face to face encounter with a Warrior. I wonder how it's like to be in the Warrior Event.. see you March 10!

Well it is currently 150th on Alexa. So it isn't like this is some unknown or underground site.

    (Also 85th in the US).

Those stats are a bit misleading, since IMers are the type of folks who are most likely to have the Alexa toolbar installed.

Is this the same Russian guy that all the Clickbank gurus keep using to create 'powerful software that makes $40,000 per second after it was stolen from a guy in a coffee shop'?

    I gotta meet this fella!

Joking aside it's a good thing to meet up with other IM'ers - as it sometimes feels like we are a very rare breed indeed!

    Thanks for the share!

Actually, he did not know much about IM and was more of a lurker than anything. We are going to meet later this week. I hope to help him with a few things he's interested in ... we'll see.

I met a warrior at a bar once.

We talked for a little, but then he said we should record our conversation and sell it as a WSO for $7.00, so I left.

You gotta go to seminars and IM conferences if you want to see this. Or simply... hire an internet marketing consultant with a proven track record.

It's kinda kewl unexpectedly meeting anyone you've associated with online.

When I was in NY, I was at one of the Herkimer Diamond fee dig sites. I wanted to take a break from hunting for awhile and was walking around chatting with people to see how everyone was doing and get a story for my Gazette (WP). I noticed one guy showing a woman how to get at the "diamonds" so I went over and introduced myself = "Hi, I'm Sal from rockhoundstation1.com and I notice you seem to know a lot about getting to the gemstones out here......" and he said "WOW - Sal? I'm a member of your website......" That was just a totally incredible moment for me. Here I was all the way across the country from home and meeting someone I'd talked to and have the same interests with. After that, we'd get together every so often and take little hunting trips around the state and into some neighboring states while I was in NY.

IM can be hella fun for those who are in business in niches that they really love.

Your cousin too might be a Warrior. Yeah, there are LOTS of warriors everywhere, but as a guy above there said, compared to big marketplaces/seminars, WF sound a bit small.

    Yet, for me it's a big/great place.
