articles question <-----newbie

hi guys, im new to the warrior communtity. just wanted to ask about article marketing. im starting with an affiliate program and heard that article marketing is a good way for traffic.

now, people say they write about 10-20 articles a day and send it to a ezine.
do u write the same article and send the same one to various directories? and people that have hundreds of articles... are they about the same thing?
so u send the hundreds of articles to all the different directories?

and oh and what about different "niche" articles? how do u write (or outsource) the same articles for the same product with different niche?

sorry for all the questions but its really confusing for a newbie like me at least.
thanks for ur help in advance, hope to hear from u soon

First of all, if you write 10 or 20 articles a day on a niche, chances are good you are going to burn yourself out and run out of things to write about pretty quick....

    Try something like this...

1.Perform GOOD keyword research on the niche you have selected
2.Write 2 articles a day on that niche centered around 2 keywords
    3.Submit the articles to EzineArticles
4.After the article is approved, post the article to your site, blog, lens
    5. Start over again

    Simple, right?

After you do that for a few days, move on to the second phase...

    6. Check Google for position of articles (see if any are on the first 6 or 7 pages)
    7. Start building links to articles that rank in pages 1 -7 or so. You can do this through social bookmarking, rss feeds, blog commenting, or submitting articles to other directories linking back to your original content on either your site or EZA...
    8. Get camstudio or the demo for camtasia and start making videos out of some of your articles via a power point presentation and upload them to YouTube and other video sites
    9. Check videos to see where they rank - if pages 1-7 build links to them
    10. Dominate the world!!!

The general idea of what I laid out above is that you do this for enough keywords and obtain rankings with even a handful of them you will get a steady flow of traffic which will in turn let you to focus on other niches while still enjoying traffic from your original niche.

It might seem like a lot of work, but Article/Bum marketing does require a couple hours a day on your part consistently to see results in a reasonable amount of time.

So, to make your life a little bit easier, look for things that you can outsource fairly cheap, like:

    Account creations for social bookmarking
    Blog commenting
    Directory submissions

Hopefully, that helped a little bit. Also, what I laid out above is definitely not the only way to go about it. Hell, I'm not even sure it is the "best" way to do it. It has worked well for me though.

      Hey racso316,

Jeremy definitely has some great pointers on this. As an article marketer myself, I usually like to find some high quality PLR (private label rights where I use someone else's article as a base content and change what they say into something that I do...very easy to find in the major niches) and I will rewrite articles.

      Why do I do this?

      1. It saves me time (I have an article and I rewrite the content into my own style while adding tidbits I feel are left out).

      2. Usually the keyword research (impacts search engine results) is done so I just have to focus on adding even more value to the high quality article.

      3. I can focus on pumping out articles without burning out (DEFINITELY a major issue...no more than 3 articles produced a day...if you do more regularly...you WILL burn out... I will put a thousand dollars on that

So here's my suggestion to you while you do Jeremy's plan...

      1. Get the articles submitted to EZA (best directory hands down). They do require unique content and will SLAM you if you plagiarize so definitely be unique and if you follow my rewrite plan...rewrite the content 100% with new title, article body, and resource box.

      2. Make a video or audio like he said but do it for one of the 3 articles per day not all...it's good to do this (although I don't do it personally I do watch these videos online from time to time just to change up my learning process).

      3. Track what works with Google Analytics or some other tracking. Even if you just have "I got 400 visitors to my site and I made 20 sales so I have a 5% conversion rate." That is basic tracking at the very bare bone. Analytics will tell you if 300 of those visits were junk and resulted in no sales then the 300 that resulted in sales is where you should focus. (btw, that 300 visits generating 20 sales in the example above...can happen...it definitely has for me).

This is a pretty basic plan but it should help you in the future with bum marketing. When you want to really boost your income...learn list building

      Cheers,

      Brad Spencer

      PS- Oh...Jeremy...great post!

I recommend writing just 3 to 5 articles per day so you wont run out of topic to write and research at least two related keyword to best optimized it.

When you find a profitable niche, you need to find at least 15 or 20 long tail keywords. For example, if you were into selling jewelry, you would want many keywords such as:

    antique silver jewelry
    heirloom turquoise jewelry
    handmade indian jewelry

etc, etc. - you get the picture.

You then want to write as many articles as you can per day, using each long tail keyword in a different article. Write good articles with interesting content - your main goal is to get your reader to click on your resource box, where you will have a link to your site or blog.

Once you complete an article, submit it to several article directories. Contrary to popular belief, there is no penalty for submitting the exact same article to several directories.

I recommend Ezine Articles, Go Articles, Buzzle and Article Dashboard.

Keep doing this routine for a while, and see if you get results. You can track the visitors you are getting to your site or blog with Statcounter (it's free) and it will also show you which articles your traffic is coming from.

    Hope this helps!

      Hi Racso,

Dont get overwhelmed...it's not that hard. After a while everything will make sense. There are different ways to get traffic (people) to your articles. One of the ways is social bookmarking. There are sites like 'stumbleupon.com' and 'digg.com' where you can 'bookmark' (store or save links to) pages of websites you like. In this case, it will be the webpage address (or link) of your articles.Other people on the bookmarking site can view your profile on the site and your bookmarked links (depends on profile settings) and some of them may click on it and be directed to your articles or webpages that you have bookmarked.

Since you are starting out, try around 6-7 articles a week for a product...as you gain experience, you can write more articles. You write articles by doing research and writing the articles yourself.Else you can pay someone (outsource) to do it for you at 'guru.com', the warrior forum,'elance.com' or some place else.

Hey man, I don't want you to take this the wrong way but, you really need to consider using better spelling when you post in here. Now before you freak out (or anyone else does), hear me out.

If you want to be successful you need to sound and be intelligent. If you want to be taken seriously, you need to take yourself seriously and push yourself to think and write on a higher level. This has to be a lifestyle as far as communication is concerned.

There is still a lot of things that I am learning about IM but I do know a lot about being successful and what is going to help you get there is turning your world upside down. What I mean by that is all of this may seem out of your element to you and completely foreign but you have to make it come naturally to you. There are a lot of people who will be able to help you succeed but you are going to have to go where they are, if you catch what I am saying.

I hope I haven't offended you but I do want you to know that you are going to have to adapt to a new world going into IM. A new way of thinking, of working, and of communicating. It is going to take a lot of hard work but you can do it. A small, but incredibly beneficial, step is practicing better communication skills in here.

All the best and much success,

      Ray

I have written well over 600 articles on EZA and have learned quite a bit over time. One thing I will tell you is that 20 articles a day is a sure way to reach "burn out." I would suggest working up to that perhaps but at first be sure to submit quality articles in high demand niches. Make sure you do good keyword research as well.

It is equivalent to 2 highly trained commandos vs 20 untrained recruits.
I agree with this, spend a little more time on your articles and you'll get much better results

I started out just with volume and to be honest 90% of my traffic comes from my best 10% of my articles. Loads of quickly written articles were a waste of time.

          @Olatunde,

People can advise on a profitable niche but I think you only find out by trial and error what actually works for you.

For instance I was convinced "Stop Smoking" would be a good niche but I never got anywhere with it even though I'd been through it, was interested and could write easily on the subject.

I'm sure lots of others have been very successful in it though.

Do some research, test a few niches and focus on any that give you results.

What a wonderful analogy! I wish I had thought of it.

When my clients ask me how many articles they should write/submit a day, I tell them to purge that question from their mind and never ask it again!

They write articles at a comfortable and profitable pace. If it takes a week for them to write an article - THAT'S PERFECTLY FINE! Because I know that that one article is going to pay dividends for the author for months and possibly years to come.

Write or spin out 20 articles a day and you'll get some good traffic, I cannot deny that. But write one, very tactfully written article a week and your conversions (sales) will blow 20 spun or hastily written articles out of the water. BIG TIME.

There are ways to lure a reader into enthusiastically clicking on your links before they even reach the end of your article. Test and learn!

So don't worry about HOW MANY article you are writing...just write, and write for conversions, not just traffic.

          Respectfully,

Article marketing is definitely working for me but the maximum I can write for now is 7-8/day.
I tried to outsource it but the results were dismal so I re-wrote everything. I had only a good experience with a writer on this forum.

Social bookmarking with your articles might be a bit of a waste of time to a certain extent....

Most of the SB sites that mean anything have flagged EZA as spam. What you might consider though is picking up a piece of software like socialbot which has a ton of SB sites in it...out of 130 sites or so a couple of them are bound to take it

    Hi All,

Your posts are all very helpful. Writing loads of articles a day would reduce me to a quivering heap. I try to write 1 article a day and so far so good with 42 submissions all accepted with EZA. I'm still very much a newbie though and have much to learn.

My question relates to the issue of creating duplicate content. There are indeed squillions of article sites, and software designed to make submitting to all those sites as easy as a click of the mouse. But if we submit to multiple sites doesn't that mean we are creating ALOT of duplicate content, and isn't that a no no?

You don't have to worry about any penalties or no-no's when it comes to DC.

Here's a blog post where I discussed what I learned at a Google Seminar.

      http://www.warriorforum.com/blogs/al...e-content.html

As far as duplicate content across many sites...why wouldn't you want your links out there at multiple websites...especially the ones that are used by ezine creators and other webmasters?

By duplicating your efforts (to an extent) you are only creating a better chance that more people will land on your site via your resource link(s).
