Keywords: Plural VS Singular

Here is an odd question, which is better to use as a buyer keywords singular vs plural?

Seems to me when I buy I use plural in my searches, but I could be wrong on this. As I'm not overly skilled in SEO I have only a wee bit of know how so any pros in here able to help with this?

The only way to check on this seems to use google keywords to check the searched value then go do a google search and see what pops up informational sites or sites that sell things. Anyone with some skills in this area know if this is the proper way to go?

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide in this matter.

    My experience is that you should try to target the one that buyers use... If you were buying that item, which would you type into Google?

    At Bing/Yahoo, it does not matter... Both result the same.

    At Google it does matter... they rightfully treat singular / plural as two different descriptions.

      Absolutely. Have a look in the google keyword tool which one is getting more searches, and which one has a higher average cpc. That will give you a good indication as to which one is used more and which one is more than likely getting results in Adwords.

        I have found that with adwords, using a combination of both singular and plural keywords is most efficient when starting a new campaign. Of course you are going to want to test the keywords yourself and see where they take you. After that, its just a process of elimination. Dumping keywords that are generating a ton of clicks and no conversions.

    I think that 3 words is better than one words of keywords, in my experience more sales in taking in 3 words.example: all luxury villa is better than in villa of keywords.
    use plurals is better than singular.
