Default First Real Attempt at IM

Ok so my first attempt at IM involves a Golfing product that runs through their website. I have done some advertising on forums and facebook and such I wrote some articles on Ezines but they have yet to be published. My website gives them a free set of lessons if they sign up for my list. So far I have had over 100 visitors and have about 22-25 people signed up for the list and 4 or 5 of them on top of that number have yet to be verified. I have yet to make a sale. It has only been a few days since I reallly started advertising for it. Friday actually. Is this a bad sign?

Need some writing? Feel free to PM me.

I don't think it is a bad sign, just concentrate on building your list, be sure to include some affiliate links when you are emailing your subscribers, you can also considering selling advertisement in your e-zine to related products or services, just my 2 cents

Need to advertise your IM offer? 728x90 and 468x60 banner space available on Internet Marketing related forum, PM me.

is a little confusing.

However, if you are already building a list and having 25 our of every 100 people who visit sign up then I would say you are WELL on your way to making money in IM.

Now, you may have a problem converting your opt-ins to sales, but that could be a problem with your email copy.

All in all, it sounds like you a are doing great.

Give us more info and we can help you out more.

without knowing much of the structure of the offer and how tightly relevant and powerful the web copy is, it's so hard to say, that it would probably take hours to evaluate the situation. however, a nice and lengthy descriptive detailed explanation of your situation that would allow us to step into your world and see what's going -- that would be wonderful...

Sorry I meant as the sales and such are run through their website which I believe is a 1shopping cart setup. Not clickbank. They sell instructional DVDs, ebooks, and aids.

Lee you're doing GREAT!

Couple of reality checks for you...

9/10 advertising mediums won't work for you. That means you normally have to test AT LEAST 10 different places (facebook, forums, ezines, banner ads, textlinks etc) before you find 1 that is profitable.

And within each medium only 1 out of 10 ADS will actually work for you.

(Most people give up WAY too early, but when you hit that 1 in 10 you're off to the races!)

Anything over 10% opt-in is good. Obviously the higher the better, but 10% is the minimum you should aim for. 22-25% is excellent. Keep testing to improve it.

It often takes 7-12 "contacts" with you before a prospect buys. Make sure you've got a whole bunch of autoresponder messages lined up to automate these contacts.

Bottom line: so far things look good -- a few days isn't enough to determine whether you're onto a winner or not, but so far so good.

Focus on generating more traffic, upping your opt-in rate, getting more click-throughs from your emails, and track your conversions.

It's all a numbers game

Thought About Offline Consulting?
Fiona - $5,500 + $600/m 1st Week... Anthony - $7k + $594/m... Liz - $12k 1st Month...
Rob - $7k + $800/ 1st Month... Scott - $45,000 in 3m... 20/yo Jock 6-Figure Client 2nd Month
Don't you deserve the same unfair advantage?

Also remember one thing, there are NO real bad signs. There are just signs that tell you that what you are doing is effective or not. Does that make sense? All your focus should be on getting the actual result you want. Here I am 5 years after signing up at this place, had 54 posts up until 2 days ago, however, I've managed to somehow collectively create $3 million dollars from this online rag. One of the more recent threads I responded to on "what was the best investment I ever made" -- it was the software script that cost me $150 (well $75 because I split it) that was part of 1/2 my the money made above...

Remember that your course today will be nowhere where you thought 1 year, 2 years, 3 years or even 7 years from now.

It's the steering and the adjustments you do along the way that you get to the planned destination. I learned a lot of this stuff from the TR tapes I bought back in 2002...

I appreciate the support guys and I will be sure to keep working on it. I do understand that everything will have to be a sign that whether positive or negative in sales terms can be turned one hundred percent positive in order to make better sales and such.

What exactly would you like me to expand on in order for you to get the full amount of info? (Detailed explanation)

So I didn't know if any more of this would help but I have 149 unique visitors since Friday and 26 subscribed as well as 5 waiting on confirmation although some are from Friday so I doubt they will confirm.

What are you doing to make sure everyone actually confirms their subscription?

After they opt-in are you sending people to a page that urges then to go to their email account and confirm immediately so that they can get their freebies?

If you do this your confirmation rate will be at least 95%.

From your stats it looks like you'll lose 20% of your potential subscribers because they won't take the extra step of confirming.

Hope This Helps!!

Well I have two things, above the form where they sign up I state they will have to confirm it and then in the confirmation email itself I say you have to confirm to get your free lessons.
