Will Google penalize your site if you buy facebook fans, +1's and twitter followers on fiverr?

I understand that your bought 'friends' will not be engaging with you on any of these platforms but wouldn't it be more enticing for other people to like your facebook page or follow you on twitter if it looked you already have a certain amount of interest?

Is it just me that thinks buying social proof is sort of ironic?

Surely if you're buying your social proof then the people who might follow because they think others did it because you were interesting will just be disappointed?

Why not actually build up your credibility and value so that they will want to follow you without being tricked?

I totally understand what you mean and the plan is to deliver great content so people want to keep returning and 'like' and +1 because they want to, I was just thinking it would help to get the ball rolling by having some sort of 'social proof'.

"The end justifies the means", you mean? As long as you provide what your customers want and satisfy them, it's ok to attract them by deceiving them?

It's like anything you buy, quality counts.

If the seller is using different IPs etc and it looks natural then you should be fine. If your site is mainly aimed at the UK market, you need really UK targetted people.

But think about it logically and your site is promoting car dealers in New York or a taxi company in London and all your likes are from Pakistan, India and Manilla then it won't look natural at all.

This reminds me of when I was clubbing years ago.

The bouncers would purposely keep everyone waiting in a huge line outside a club, to give the impression that the club was popular and extremely busy.

I dont know how many times I would wait in a huge line to get inside, only to be dissapointed and leave within minutes.

Just keep it real man, its not worth the smoke and mirrors routine.
