    Did you mute your speakers?

Can you hear your voice INSIDE the editing program or just once it has rendered?

In Camtasia is an option around Audio settings. You need to look at the options there to see what audio sources are available. It's probably set up by default to record from your computer's microphone input.

The audio settings should be set to "record what you hear". Unfortunately not all sound cards are set up to do that. I was unlucky when I bought my previous very high end computer and never got it to work. You can test this by do a regular recording with your computer outside Camtasia. If you don't get it to work there you will not get it to work with Camtasia. Otherwise it should just be to set the correct recording setting.

    Best of luck!

You have a description of the problem I experienced on this webpage and a sad workaround with cables in and out...

If you are using the free version, go to options at the top and you will see by default it says do not record audio. Change that to record from speakers and you should be good to go.
