True Value Of Subscribers On Your List

Been working on building a list and have seen for the most part that in list building a subscriber is normally valued at $1/each per month. At least, that is what the average is being quoted.

I know this can be different and vary depending on your niche.

Working hard at building my list and looking for other Warriors experience in this aspect. What value are you seeing for subscribers on your list?

Subscribers are the lifeblood of our business. That's how I see it.

$1 dollar is the average marketers should shoot for, less than that there is not a very good relationship with the list. More than that means the message to market match is incredible good.

Hey Shawn, there are way to increase your subscriber value above $1, I learned some quality ways to do that in Alex Jeffrey's WSO Feb.15th. Blew my mind he has 3 phases of his marketing funnel and you see the visitor value increase, ill be implementing it in my own business

The value of your subscribers depends on the price point of the products you promote to them. The BIG reason the "Gurus" say each subscriber is worth $1 is because they sell high priced products. So they need fewer sales to generate $1 per subscriber.

The real value of any list is in the relationship you establish. If you "churn and burn" then don't expect too much response. But if you give them information that is both timely and informative then you'll create a better response in the long run.

Most marketers who actually make above the $1/subscriber benchmark actually market their own products to their list. Those with membership sites generally make much more.

I'd say, integrate your listbuilding campaigns with product creation and marketing and you'll see much higher earnings.

Thanks for all the input. My plan is to market my own products in the future and probably adswap with other like minded Warriors with similar lists.

I check out that WSO as well. Always reading and learning.

    Hey Shawn,

I'm new here, but I've been in IM since a few years. I work with latin people, wich normally spend less money online, but if you create a good funnel in your product, or promote products with a good funnel, the value can be higher than $1 per subsc., asumming you're in this niche...

    my 2 cents

I depends on the quality of the list and what you are offering.

I do not produce my own products for most of my list and I've made over $600 in a day and about $36 a day after that from a list of under 200.

I've also made a few thousand monthly from a list of 500.

    I make $50 - $100 a month from a list of a few thousand.

It is like this when any one of this forum asks for others experience. There are so many factors and variables to consider.

What niche are you targeting? What are you offering? Do you have a quality, targeted list?

I prefer to work in smaller niches, with more targeted traffic of buyers with many avenues to provide service and products to them.

I do have some larger lists too but I was making a point.

You will notice the closer your relationship with your subscribers, the more they are each worth.

When your list is smaller, it's easy to have that relationship, so you might notice it's very easy, but as it gets bigger, you have to employ larger numbers to get results, so you get less and less close with your list.

It depends on what metrics you're focusing on and for what period of time. Is it value per year? Value based only on one-time sales? Back-end sales? The Lifetime Value of the subscriber? Are refunds included?

You'll find answers ranging from 0 cents all the way to $100 per subscriber or even higher because of all the variables involved.

When the big gurus tell you that a subscriber is worth 1 $ it is also based on good old email marketing, but today many people doesn't even bother opening their emails anymore, simply because of the huge amount of garbage emails. Also many people access their email account through their mobile phones and only opens the personal emails.

Exactly. I highly doubt people promoting affiliate products are making $1 a subscriber. In order to make money I think you need to be able to send your list free valuable content with periodic endorsements.

Don't get hung up on figures like this.

Spend your time working on increasing conversions of your funnel and creating a real relationship with the people on your list. Create your own product and become a player in your niche, and get other people sending all their buyers onto your list.

Concentrate on quality content and the money will come, but if you concentrate more on the money and a target you will be chasing your tail and just seen as someone out to grab money.

Excellent feedback and that is what I was looking for. My plans are my own products mostly, but also will groom my list and build a strong relationship with them. I want them to trust me as I really want to help them succeed.

Appreciate all the responses. Off to take more action.

Email marketing definitely still works when the people have opted in to get your information. Open rates have to do with subject lines and unsubscribe rates have to do with what you are offering them.

And you can definitely make money selling other people's products.

Quality products and great subject lines are key. Promote junk and you won't come near that number. Be sure to segment your lists. esp. buyers lists!
