I know people have gotten burned with blind offers or required (must buy to make the original product work) OTO/upsells on WSOs.

However, I've noticed lately that people are not just asking if the OTO is required but they want to know the details and the pricing and if there are additional upsells, etc.

What is the purpose of asking this question?

Secondly, if the WSO creator is answering the question with something like "it's not required - it's a coaching program for $47 a month" doesn't that take away all "persuasion" or "surprise" that OTOs normally provide?

I mean if I know up front that it's software that I don't need to work the original offer I probably won't even read the sales copy - the effect of the sales copy is basically "ruined".

What benefit does asking or answering this question give to anyone outside the assurance that the original product is all that is required?

Thanks for any insights.

Like you said they have burned by WSOs before. So they want to be careful before buying next one.

If you are a buyer and knows the product, you tend to make a decision whether to buy or not ... If you read the sales copy or not doesn't matter as long as you know product details well enough to make a decision.
