Default How to "get back" traffic you've "lost" on Google

Ok,

I've seen these posted a number of times, where people are anxious and panicking because they've "lost" their traffic and can't figure out why, so start jumping to all sorts of conclusions -- it is they overpromoted? Is their website spammy? Are they linked to link farms? etc, etc.

You don't need to guess why. Google will tell you why.

Go to this link:
http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/

It is the google webmaster tools.

Then, create an account/"verify" your website (usually by putting an HTML page on your website to "confirm" that you are the owner).

Once you do that, google will tell you exactly why your website was delisted, and/or if you having any pending 'infractions', etc.

Then, you can fix it.

And then, if google likes you, you'll be away and laughing!

Webmaster tools doesn't give you everything unfortunately, especially explaining links.

Webmaster tools don't tell you much of anything.

If your site has problems, they will say there are no pages in the index- that's it.

Then they'll refer you to the webmaster guidelines, which are very general.

As far as specific problems it will be up to you to sort it out, usually by searching and research.

This thread nor Google webmaster tools will not "Get back" your traffic...
