Question about product reviews and user comments

What standards do you use and how do you go about getting user comments/reviews?

I know where to look for them but what are the rules?

    I usually buy several products..about three to four on the same niche. Sometimes I hired someone to do the reviews, asking the vendor and searching for available reviews or ask the forum about their reviews. The good ethic of creating such reviews is buying the products so that you have good comments and if you know how to create a video/screen capture then add one to make it really reliable.
