Is my List Building Plan Viable?

Hi Warriors,

As the subject line suggests i have a plan to build a list.....

I have just started building my list this week and i am at 3.. long way to go. I have set up a squeeze page with my own free offer. With a paid OTO offer to come.

I am getting traffic from adf.fl. I know this is not the best traffic but my plan is to get my subs up to 200 and then do adswaps.

I have also entered a few JV giveaways but they have not started yet. I am not sure how to drive traffic to the JV giveaway as my list is very small.. 3 haha From what i can gather i can drive traffic to the giveaway from social media. I think that's maybe the best option. I have about 500 follows on twitter but i don't communicate with them so this may be hard and my facebook is all my friends don't want to send it to them...

In this time I will have completed my OTO which is a video course that i'll be selling for about $17. Once the video course is completed i want to move onto solo ads. I am hoping that enough people buy my OTO for $17 to break even on the cost of the solo ads.

Well that's it in a nut shell.

I am after feedback as to if my plan will work or is there an easier way to go about it..

    Don't show them the offer immediately. It looks like you are eager to sell them. Send couple of follow up emails, then in third one expose them to your offer. In those first 2 emails, explain a problem and solution that would be solved with your video.

      Thanks Mate,

      I was thinking about making a few short video follow ups instead of just emails.
      This way they get to see me and when i talk on the videos they will be able to put a face to the voice..

    You are off to a good start. However, it is much more profitable in the long run to get quality traffic and thus get quality opt ins.

    Even if you do a adswap, if your list doesn't convert for the other person, it will be hard for you to get anymore adswaps.

    I wouldn't offer the OTO after the sign up, I might send them to a blog post that tells them a lot about something else they may be interested in, though.

    Also, it is important to get your traffic from different sources because if something goes wrong with one, you don't want all your "eggs in one basket".

    I would offer the people some real value and then for the go getters, make an offer in the P.S. for those who want to get more faster.

      Subs up to 9 now.. My target is 10,000 so i have a long way to go but i think that once the ball gets rolling the subs will increase..

      No one has commented on JV's.. Are they a good idea to join??

    You're better off doing forum marketing to build up your subscribers to at least 500 before starting adswaps. This way, both you and your partner get quality leads and a great partnership is formed from here.

    Don't waste your money on adf.ly. Too many complaints will generally reduce your delivery rates.

    It's a solid plan. However, you can jump start the list building by buying traffic. Getting traffic fromh adfly will take too long. If your OTO converts well, then this will recoup the investment you make in buying traffic.

    It is never easy. Don't look for any super short cuts. Also, don't even be thinking about making money with 3 people on your list, you need to nurture them, give them valuable content and information for free, then maybe, just maybe, if you feel in your heart it is right to reach out and offer something to them where they have to pay, then try to sell to them. Otherwise, you will burn your list out quick, if you never create a real relationship with them.
