Ease in using Word Press if presently using Homestead Sitebuilder?

I have no formal training in web design but have been building a website on Homestead's Sitebuilder for the past several years for a non-profit I co-founded.
To secure some income, I have been presented with an opportunity to manage/update a site for a business that uses word press. I have no experience with word press, nor training in code/web design. I have familiarized myself with SB by trial and error, etc. I am wondering if WP is similar enough to SB, that I could manage/update this WP site?
I have a link to their site, but I don't know how customized it is, being unfamiliar with WP.
Thank you for any assistance you could offer!

I' ve never used sitebuilder. WP is quite easy to use, a nice easy learning curve.

Yeah Wordpress is very easy to use. A couple of hours pressing buttons and you'll figure it out.

I'm sure you can google or ask here for any problems you have.

I've never used Sitebuilder either but Wordpress is incredibly simple. Especially if they've already built the site and just want you to edit it.

Just by looking around you'll see where things go. Things are quite self explanitory, if you wan't to ... change the background color there'll be an option that says "BACKGROUND COLOR" with a color chart next to it. (Hypothetical.)

You'll be fine, just take a few hours to press every button and it's pretty self explanitory Check out YouTube if you need any help, there's some fantastic help videos out there.

Something to consider... Not sure what theme the WordPress site you'll be using is - some are much easier to work with than others.

For example, they may be using a custom theme, with the pages all hard coded, as opposed to pages that use widgeted areas. That by itself could make the site very easy or a pain in the a&% to work with.

I also talked to one of my outsourcers the other day, who said that they (an India based shop) are building custom WP themes and changing up the default WP directory structure in order to provide greater site security. It also makes it near impossible for anybody else to work on the site.

All that said.... 99 times out of 100 - WP sites are very easy to work with. There is a TON of info online, tutorials on YouTube, support forums, and WF if you need help on a specific...

Take that work and run with it!

Thanks so much for your input! It is appreciated!

Q: Do you log into a Word press website (to edit) with an e-mail address and password, as you do with Homestead's Site builder?

Any additional advice is greatly appreciated!

Do any of you do website updates for businesses, and if so, what is your fee structure?

    Thanks!!

I have used many site builders, but not the Homestead Site builder. In any case, I found Wordpress more user-friendly than any site builder I have ever used. It provides a mechanism to create websites very quickly unlike the site builders. Also, with Wordpress, there are so many useful plugins available that you have to deal with very little coding or none at all.
