Default Local Leads -- One Site vs. Many

My company has a lead generation site for a small geographic area (20 mi diameter) that's been working very well for us. So well that a couple of folks in the same business but in other cities have asked us to set up a similar lead capture system for their geographic areas.

Since our original domain had our city name in it, I created new domain names that contained the city's name for each different city that we were trying to capture leads in.

My question is, if we're going to eventually expand to many cities, should we be organizing this around one domain name instead of creating a new one for each city? I'm really trying to look at the overall big picture of growing a potential business: SEO, ease of updating the site(s), site conversion rate, etc.

would subdomains work a la Craigslist. If the main domain is webadmin.php then you could have seattle.leadcapture.com , tacoma.leadcapture.com , wallawalla.leadcapture.com etc. It works for CL.

To build your brand, use one domain name with subdomains for each city or geographic area. Craiglist is an excellent model to emulate. I use a similar model, and it will ease the work load in search engine optimization, PPC ads, and especially in offline advertising (which is highly recommended).

Thanks for the thoughts. Would you guys say that for the purpose of SEO subdomains are superior to different directories on the same main domain?

How about for ease of updating the site?
