One PC - Three Monitors

I have a laptop and a monitor allowing me to use the double screen configuration.

But I have another monitor just sitting here.

Is there a way to connect it to the laptop, via a splitter or whatever, to display 3 screen, all with different output?

I get so much more done with the two screen - I can only imagine what I could do with 3.

    I found I'm more productive on 2.

I tried 3 for a few months but you end up "scanning" too much.

Besides, with a 22in LCD as the 2nd monitor you can comfortably open 2 documents on the one screen and effectively have 3 (or more) programs visible at once.

It is possible but depends on your graphics card. If you have a digital out port on your laptop you can get a splitter to connect two monitors. I have mine set up with the nvidia software and it's incredibly easy.

    Your options are -

    Triple Head to Go
which is an external box so no messing around inside your PC,

    or

    SLi or Crossfire
These are systems for plugging more than 1 graphics card into a motherboard. So it may mean a new motherboard and graphics card(s).
But, it will let you add 4 monitors if you want.

    or

It is possible to get graphics cards that fit in regular pci slots that pretty much all motherboards have.
They are slower and less powerful than normal graphics cards,
but it may be that for desktop stuff this would work.

I'm to new to give you any links, sorry!
I have SLi and I'm pretty comfortable with 3 monitors,
    kind of want a 4th

edit: just noticed you have a laptop, so its the triple head to go you want, from a company called Matrox

This would have looked so much cooler if the screens showed a Forex Account or something! LOL!

        And I agree...more is BETTER!

To the oP...My 1st instinct was the option to use Triple Head 2 Go...I've heard nothing but great things about that in the gaming forums I visit...sounds like niffty little device!
