Web developers your worst pre-launch competitor?
I recently was thinking and i sort of feel that your web developers can be your worst competitor.
Why?
Imagine you have an idea, a unique service to provide, then you talk to web developers one by one to see if they can do and also the rough quote. Then you finally settle with one guy.
But in the process you let many people know your idea.
They may not get your project or they may say they cant do or not interetsed, just to end up building up a site that provide the exact same service even before you launch. Then you will be seen as a copy cat or a follower rather than the person who started it.
All this is because you cant patent ideas. Only trademarks and brands.
Any thoughts?
