My 3 biggest fears on IM!

Hey guys,I would like to share my 3 biggest fears On IM.

A.I am SUPER afraid of the refunds as an affiliate,I am afraid to depend on money i make(lets say clickbank)And Because of their Super long 60-Money back guarantee,I might actually get a check and than SHAZZAM,Dude's asking for a refund!

B.List building,What if i build a list of 500,1000,2000 Subscribers Ok? Now i Send Them Follow ups Which does not include any freebies Or Offers,Just pieces of information and a collection of Clever Sentences,Still,In the broadcasts,When do i start sending freebies? Should i promote an offer before the freebie or after the freebie? What if I will make one little mistake an my list Would stop Clicking Me,All the hard work can be RUINED because of one mistake.

C.LONG LIVE THE EMPIRE!!! No,Im joking, But what if i will build a business around clickbank,Being an affiliate there,What if They all refund,What do i do now?! THE EMPIRE WILL BE DEMOLISHED!!!

P.S - Dont mind me, Im fine.

In 5+ years as a vendor on clickbank, I have never had anyone request a refund who did not request it within about 48 hours of buying the product. No one has ever come back 4 weeks or 6 weeks later and said I want a refund.

This won't happen often. Most people ask for refunds right away, within the first three days. If you are really worried about refunds, try to avoid high refund niches like forex and MMO.

Mix it up! Send some information and the occasional freebie. Promote when you find something you think they will like.

One email won't totally kill your list, don't worry. Just make sure you are sending them good information, the occasional freebie, and that you don't promote crap. If you want to know what they want more of, ASK! Send a survey for them to do. You don't need to be afraid of your list.

As you work on list building and email marketing, you will settle in to your own style that fits you and your list.

    Why would they all refund?

Besides, there are TONS of affiliate networks out there. If you end up not liking ClickBank, look into other ones!

Ignore your fears and take action -- see what strategies other affiliates are doing and experiment yourself (there are plenty of people here on WF who share their experiences).

If you do a little research and promote products that are both popular and have a low refund rate, then the chances of having someone asking for a refund from you will be significantly lessened.

RE List building/marketing: I agree with AmandaT -- you should definitely do a little of both. Don't be afraid of sending your list an email devoid of an offer or freebie -- as long as the information you send them is genuine and useful (and related to your niche), it shouldn't be a problem. In fact, this is probably a good way of building trust and establishing a rapport with the individuals on your list

Fears are only natural, the best thing to do is just ignore then and get out there and start promoting. then take it as comes

    For your list:
You won't ruin your list if you always give them good stuff, and no B.S.
Give free stuff, good information, quality. A lot of it. Always. Even when you promote a product/service and get a commission.
At the end of a promotion-video/article/email, you can easily point to a offer and just say "and if you want more information about this... you can go to (LINK)."
or you can do it like this:
"I recommend using this service/product,,, you can use whoever you'd like, but this is who I use, and I'll actually show you how to use it here (link to video/article/pdf where you're showing how to do it...), and go through it with you".

So just give a lot of freebies, resources and good stuff. Keep your list happy, and make sure what you're promoting is good stuff too, and you will never ruin your list.

Don't worry about refunds after the first days. If you worry that maybe 20% will get a refund at the end of the 30 days, then you need to chill. It won't happen. The ones who get refunds will get them the first couple of days.

What ifs can be your best friend or your worst enemy. My advice, get some new what ifs. There will be refunds, but most of them will come within the first few days. As for list building, you just have to learn what works. Get REALLY good at copywriting and most of the list building will take care of itself. And try these:

    1) What if you get a WHOLE lot more sales that stick that you do refunds?
    2) What if you build a responsive list that you can market products to for life?
    3) What if you never have to work a 'real job' again?

Fears are natural and if you had no fear you would be dangerous...

One of your fears is if you build a business round clickbank and it collapses and you lose everything.....

Well I would not build a business round one thing as that is always asking for trouble... Build your business on solid foundations, make money on short lived projects thats fair enough but dont build a business off the back of another business....

    Good luck

Well, just few lines from me.

You can't achieve success if you let these fears rule over you.

I got your points and indeed they are worth pondering.

    You can't live life scared.

You sound like one of those people who would be scared to pick up a $10 bill if it were just laying on the ground because it MIGHT have anthrax on it.

    Look for solutions not problems.

You seem to fear the unknown. It happens. Here is something that is well known and stands true. Are you engaged with you list? If you have a relationship with you list, you will be fine. It is easier to ask your audience for forgiveness than it is permission. Take a look at religion. There is a ton of churches based in pissing off their congregations.

You won't get many refunds on Clickbank if you sell a quality product.

Sell quality products and offer value and you won't have refunds. Don't become another scammer in this industry by going for the quick easy buck.

You shouldn't be afraid of refunds. I'm willing to bet that for every refund you get, you'd get 30 pain free sales each. Assuming your product is good. Some people will refund you just to get your info for free. But don't worry about these people... their own ignorance will drive them out of business.

Instead of focusing on your fears... try to conquer them by taking risks. Always remember that failure is a part of success. It's okay to fail, but make sure you go stand up again and pursue your dreams. That's the mindset of successful people.

I think your mindset is too negative. Even if they refund, so what? It's just done by your vendor... you don't actually do anything. It's not as bad as it sounds.
