Amazon affiliates, Please Help :)

Hi everyone!

I am planning to make some sites for amazon products. Can you tell me, is it possible to make $800per month through amazon within this month. And how to get it?? Which niche you would suggest?

While selecting products what to look? I mean how to select a good product? How much search volume it should have? If it has 1000 exact volume, commission per sale $10, then in a month ranking in top 10, how much i can expect?

Help

It's possible to make that much this month, but it's very unlikely you'll do it if you intend to use free traffic because it takes time to rank for keywords. Realistically, it will take many months to reach that level $800/m unless you outsource and know what you're doing.

Selecting products should be based on their rating and number of reviews. The best criteria is usually at least 4 stars and the product should have at least 10 reviews.

I totally disagree with you on this one... If you take any product from bestsellers (electronics etc) you will see websites created 2-3 days ago.. fully indexed and ranking on the first page for each product. I don't know why google does this, but the spider seems to be very hungry for websites that promote amazon products properly. If you don't believe this, I can give you a good example...

Go to google, and search for : buy Motorola SB6121 SURFboard
This products is #10 bestseller according to Amazon.
On position #10 on the first page of google, you can see the site sale4buyshop.com (registered on godaddy 2 weeks ago)
The website has 440 posts/products and it is ranking on the first page for most of them. If you go deeper and do some researching you will find that almost no link building was made to that site and you can find at least 30-40 different websites (some of them owned by the same person) that rank the same.

There you have it.. Realistically speaking you don't need many months... and the traffic is FREE. Enjoy this info, you could probably compile a WSO based on it. Cheers!

I agree, the $800 in a month will be hard and Amazon is about 2 months in getting paid. I just got my December payment.

If it helps at all I just released a free WSO with 10 best selling Amazon electronics in it. It has the Motorola SB6121 SURFboard jurojin mentioned. You're going to need content no matter what. These 10 reviews will give you a good start. The prices on the products range from $79-$499 so there are decent commissions in them.

        Hope that helps!

Yes your right. I've got keywords onto page 1 in a couple of days with no backlinks, but to earn as much as $800/month you need a good amount of traffic so I was refering to more competitive keywords it takes time to rank well for. Then there is the Google dance to consider. For new sites they often rank high for a bit then they move far down the SERPs for a few weeks.

I don't necesarily run an Amazon product type website, but if i mention a product and link to it, I get about an 8% conversion rate. It's in the health niche, so products are pretty cheap. (Average between $4 to $25)

To answer your question. It will be near impossible to make $800 any month, let alone this month. It's going to take numerous websites, lots of time and dedication, many months and then if everything goes according to plans, you might squeeze out $800 a month.

A lot of work for very little reward.

My advice to you would be go for high priced and high ticket items on Amazon.

        Good Luck to You.

Enjoy the 'free' traffic? What exactly are we talking about here?...
The monthly EM searches for "buy Motorola SB6121 SURFboard'
are approximately 80... Even then, 60 of those 80 searches will go to the top three domains... Amazon itelf, Newegg, and Yes, Motorolla..
These are some of the biggest autority sites on the internet!

Yes, the other 20 searches will go to the remaining 10 1st page results, but coming in at number 10, that guy can expect what, maybe 1 visitor per month through the Serps?

At 2% conversion rate, I would expect him, on average, to make one sale every 50 or so visitors, so maybe one sale every 3 years IF he was able to hold on to that mumber 10 position...

At the generous 3% Amazon starts affiliates off at, that would translate to what... about 1 dollar in affiliate profits every three years.

Far cry from this guys goal of $800/ mo.... just sayin....

Perhaps the guy with that site is doing better or worse, but to just blankly assume that he is rolling in money because he has an affiliate site ranked number 10 in Google is plain bad information.

The guy has hundred of domains, each with 500 posts/products on the first page. Even if your math is right he is still banking..

You can certainly make that much with Amazon! If you have the cash you can outsource the sites and backlinking. I personally have a site built, then I create a video for each product review and build backlinks to the videos including my site. And of course, rinse and repeat...

LOL. This is why I'm banking 4 figures per month and ranking withing a day or two for most products. While everyone else is following this kind of logic, I'm raking it in.

You got a lot of questions there. Too many variables to give a accurate answer.

I made about $200 in my first month with my first amazon site. It was with a Home Appliance. They sold for approx $250-$300 each.

Nobody's going to tell you what niche to choose, that's up to you, that's part of what you have to learn. Have a mix of mostly high ticket items, and a few very popular low ticket items.

I've got a few posts on the subject on my blog if you want to check them out.

Even if you could make $800 with Amazon in the month of March, you wouldn't see that money until at least the end of May as it's about 60 days before Amazon distributes payment for any month.

And making $800 within one month of starting a site is going to be quite a challenge for anyone without experience. Even if you attempted paid traffic, you'd need a great deal of knowledge about managing paid traffic or you're just going to be throwing money out the door.

You might find the information in this thread helpful with your other questions about product selection and income potential: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ing-money.html

    Hi ammywood!

The learning curve with amazon is not too steep but you will find that you need to jump in and start building your first site and then once you have fine tuned it where you have all the steps down cold (keyword selection, site setup, content creation, and traffic development), you ramp up and build more sites to accelerate your monthly earnings.

In your first month, it will be a challenge to earn $800 since you will be working on your infrastructure for most of the first month but let me suggest that if you work it right, your monthly sales will go up every month....That I can assure you!

You've somehow managed to pack a lot of questions into a very short space without realising it

First things first. Anything is possible, but I would say it's highly unlikely you'd make anywhere near $800 in your first month using organic traffic generation methods. Some people can start off with a cracking month and get a couple of hundred and then some others could take 3 or 4 months before they see their first few dollars! This race is a sprint not a marathon, as I've heard several times before.

Picking a niche takes some research - and definitely takes a little practice to get better at. There's entire ebooks written on this so I'm not gonna try and describe it all here - but I'm sure if your root around enough in the mounds of free information on this forum you'll get some good ideas on niche research tactics.

Your overall long term plan with Amazon should be to promote a fine mixture of high and low ticket items (not necessarily on the same website or niche). Amazon use a scaling commission rate ... So in other words the more units you sell, the higher the rate of commission you get on not only those units but EVERY unit you sell. So, obviously low ticket items sell more units than high ticket items (but get less commission in terms of $). So sell the low ticket items in order to drive up your commission rate so that when you sell a high ticket item it really does count.

Again related to niche research ... the search volume is important. But what search volume is acceptable is dictated by the keyword you're targeting. As an extreme example, a person searching for the keyword "buy dog food" is near the very end of the buying process. You can tell this by what they're searching ... the word "buy" shows they are most likely ready to make a purchase, and just need to be pointed in the right direction. So in this case, a very low search volume could be acceptable, because you would have a very high conversion rate. Of course it's more situational than that with more dependents but you get the idea I'm sure.

A last note about commission. I've mentioned above how Amazon use a scaling system. But you should also be aware that products in the "electronics" category on Amazon are exempt from the scaling commission system. You get a flat 4% on electronics ... just be aware of this because it changes the game a little for these products.

    All the best!

This is what I would call a very loaded question.

Can you really make $800 per month from Amazon sites?

    Basic asnswer; yes you can.

But it is not going to happen over night and more than likely not with just one site.

There are a great many questions that need to be answered to answer you post correctly and for each question that you raised you will probably get at the minimum 10 answers each and all being different and you would still need to check each one out for yourself.

I would suggest that you check out Colleen Slater's coaching class. I took it and walked away very impressed and more knowledgable about which way to go.

Another possibility is signing up for the AmazonCave membership site which is surrently being offered as a WSO right now. I think that it is still under $10.00 per month right now but not sure.

You can't beat the amount of material and support you receive for this small amount of money and the products on the site are well worth this small investment.

Hope this helps you out and best of luck.

If you need to make $800 within this month, your best bet is to offer services that you can get paid for immediately. Things like freelance writing, graphics, virtual assistant work, or anything you're good at.

If you're new to Amazon, then you're not going to make $800 in one month. It takes a little time to learn how to pick the best niches and keywords, set up your sites, and then drive traffic. You may do well on your first niche, or it may take you several to get it right. Look at Jasonsc's advice above. He knows what he's talking about.

    Good luck.

To start earning quickly, you would need either a mentor that can teach you what is involved or you need to invest in a good WSO and learn yourself.

But its already been explained that Amazon doesn't pay until 60 days after you reach the threshold so there is no quick money with Amazon, its a hard slog and needs patience.

That would be a pretty unrealistic figure if you are planning on promoting your affiliate links with a new website that gets free traffic. It will take at least a month to rank well even for keywords with not much competition. I would suggest electronic niches as these are typically very popular, but nearly any products on Amazon probably have some potential. Also, search volume isn't as important as the keyword itself and whether you are trying to build an authority website or a mini-site

    Hi,

many makes more than 800$ monthly with amazon they are professionals and Im sure they have more than 10 (domains) websites (each with 5 page mini sites or bigger).

But for noobs as like myself, its important to have an step by step thread ,information and so on, but nothing is talking about much detailed about this in his thread.

To think logical step by step; what detailed steps are needed to make 800$ monthly with amazon? These steps you must knowing.

How many websites you must have to make this goal (domains)?
5 page mini sites or bigger-10,20 ore more pages?
Only pick bestseller products or only pick up related items?
Ony pick up products up 100$ ore more?
How popular must these buyer keywords be and how you check this with free tools (which free tools you must use for that?)-trellian as example??

Or you must only look at popular keywords not keywords with a decent search volume?
Or you must pick product keywords who have in google tool around 100-200 search volume local, exact?

How you find out the product keywords that people are type in google or tagging for, and which free tools helps you to find this keywords??

How you must build your theme for an high amazon ctr? (I think like xfactor or review themes).

Thats are the answers noobs needed as myself, the most priority is to pick up the right money making buyer keywords. Thats damm hard (for me).

So similiar with making money with adsense, how many people make more than 2000$ monthly with this system and others who follow their system failed? There must be a reason for this why they failed.

This you must knowing, but I dont find such an detailed info thread in the net.
Do you know such an detailed info thread for me?

    best wishes

    1) How d'you select the product: It should be in demand (check the number of reviews it has, and it's current sales performance rank)

And obviously, it should have an significantly higher number of positive (4 stars and above) reviews.

    2) Search volume is subjective. But obviously it should be enough to warrant any time and monetary investments. And since you're obviously aiming for a good SEO ranking, don't waste time with highly competitive keywords.

Furthermore, see if you can take the root keyword and dig in deeper to find something "more niche".

    3) I have no idea how much you can expect. That depends on how good your website is, how compelling your content is, and how strong your call to action is. You can't simply plaster a site on page 1 and hope for some cash to trickle in.

    4) Why would anyone tell you which niche to select? How bout' you get a War Room membership and look through the reports that cater to this topic...

    5) Is it me, or are you jumping from opportunity to opportunity?

It's possible to make $800 in your first month, but highly improbable. Especially if you don't already know how to select a good product.

No one can really tell you how much to expect (based on your criteria of 1000 exact volume, top 10 ranking etc). It depends on exactly where you rank in the top 10 (a no.1 spot might do well however you'll get ALOT less traffic if you're bottom of the page). It also depends on your content, how well you presell the product etc.

Your best bet is to learn everything you can first (do an Amazon coaching course or buy a WSO), and start working on getting a site up as soon as possible. Your first might not even be profitable, but if you keep working on building more sites and promoting them eventually you'll work up to $800 a month and more.

    Hi,

@wolfmmiii, do you make money with a website or mini website (5-10 pages) who has such keyword like;buy Motorola SB6121 SURFboard who has only 80 search volume??

On google spot 4-5 you get max. 20 visitors form this one keyword, how many from them will buy??

I find many many product long tail keywords in amazon, most oft them have no data, no data in semrush, google tool and google insight, nothing no data.

I think its a high risk to invest (outsource) in a 5-10 webpage site with keywords who are target buyer keywords, but have nothing data, nothing search violume, Im a little afraid of that.

Do not be afraid to fail. As I mention in my personal Amazon blueprint, some products that I target are absolute duds. It happens. However, overall, I do very, very well. Since my sites only require an hour or two per day to maintain and add reviews to, I don't outsource anything.

      I do not build mini-sites.

I do not rely on search metrics. You are also leaving out the dozen and dozens and dozens of related terms that I rank for and that people are searching for.

It will. You just have to find products that are easy to rank. They are out there.

hey! this was my post! now i am earning something at least online. Wolfmmiii so targeting low competition keyword makes sales? like if i say if i have blog with 100pages and focusing on low competition. how much can i expect? I know it varies. But i had read somewhere that you make mainly authority sites.

So can you give me a rough figure how much i should expect? (let me know this with your own experience, if you have sites with so many pages, then how much it earns?). Approx.?

Yes, targeting low competition products does make sales. I really can't give any estimates on what you'd make. I can say that I do very well with the strategy.

Aside from some autoblogs I play around with, I do build primarily authority sites that promote dozens (if not in excess of 100) products. I'm not a fan of the 5-page mini-site that promotes just one product.

Engagement Rings, Certified Diamonds and Watches have been A "Goldmine" for me.
    (pun intended...)

Just check out Shop Here for Her Engagement Ring for an example.....but don't copy me.
