I know these security "seals" are technically BS but do they have a positive effect on consumers? Has anybody verified an increase in conversion with a HackerSafe or WebSafe seal? WebsafeShield has become the more interesting option as it's 70% cheaper than HackerSafe. Then there's the Verisign seal for secure payment which is in a slightly different league, both in cost and function. Can anybody pass on their real-life experiences with these? |

Yes, it will increase the conversion rate for sure. Visitors to your site hopes they are well protected & will buy your product without any fear of CC fraud. This is little trick for conversion, but well worth. |

Sounds like it may be worth the extra expense. Any suggestions on which seal gets the best results? I know of at least 3 of them: HackerSafe McAfee Secure WebSafe Shield |

Yes they always do in the long run. Any type of badges will actually help your conversions actually.

What matters more is your existing reputation and other seals like BBB accredited business and your clean track record on the net - search for your business name followed by the word "sucks" to see what people are talking about - but this can be mis-used by a competitor to post nonsense about you. having one safe seal is always good, I dont believe it is going to bring rapid conversions increases may be some but not much. People just have a Paypal payment button set up with no seals at all and they are all doing well because security is taken care of by Paypal. If you absolutely need a security seal I would go with McAfee (I was putting HackerSafe until I found McAfee had bought it out and called it McAfeeSecure) (may be wrong but I dont have time to check this point)

Online consumers need to feel safe and assured that their private information is not going to get hacked. Having a seal does indeed increase conversions, and the investment for the service tends to pay for itself eventually.

It's a PROVEN fact that they do. In fact, one of my Warrior copywriting clients will be launching a product in a week or two and will be offering a WSO for his service. That's all I can say right now. -Ray Edwards |
