Does Your Wordpress Blog Have Alzheimers?

I just noticed that one of my blogs had quit posting even though I have posts scheduled into 2013.

I checked the posts and it had some of them listed as 'missed schedule'. So, I spent a while trying to see what was wrong and I did not find anything.

I then did a search and found a free plugin that will check for posts that have 'missed schedule'. It is called 'WP Missed Schedule Fix Failed Posts'.

After I installed it all of the missed posts were published and all is at peace again at locpicker's house of pain. At least until tomorrow.

Maybe this will be of some help for you.

    Strange title, but useful info.

But did you find out why the posts went missing in the first place. Seems like it should be solved at the source.

Good plugin recommendation, it will be sure to come in handy if WP has a hissy.

That is the question. The posts are all still there but are not posting when they are supposed to.

At first I thought it was plugins that were duking it out. I do use an an auto-poster. But since the posts were scheduled I knew it was working right.

So then I found a plugin that is supposed to collect and report Wordpress errors. I am not sure if it is going to work yet and I will check it in a few days. I know there was nothing in the errors that gave a clue.

So, I really do not know what the underlying cause is yet. It seems to me that Wordpress could write this into the code so that it would error check itself. All I know is that I had to find a solution whether it was temporary or not.

If I find more info I will post it in this thread.

There are really not very many products out there for people to monitor wordpress errors. The info returned is going to be cryptic to most anyone that uses error handling software anyway. What I found out about the error log is that it is for that day only and then it starts a new log. If you are wanting to track long term events you are out of luck just using Wordpress.

This is starting to turn into a book so I am going to leave it here for now.
