This is definitely right. As you say, many people have different business accounts, simply by having different business entities. PayPal doesn't mind that at all.

But a person (i.e. rather than a business entity per se) can have only two PayPal accounts.

If you aren't sure which to get, call PayPal.

They started out telling me to get a Premier when I was just freelance writing. As I started doing more they suggested I open a Business account.

I have a premier account for personal use and a business account for my business. It's a shame you can't have more than one business account - makes it difficult to separate your businesses if you want to.

Like others have said, if you're unsure ask paypal - they have a thing online that asks you questions to determine which account is best for you I think.

    Hope that helps

As far as I am aware, you are entitled to have more than one business account so long as you have more than one business entity. I know of people who run several businesses and have different Paypal business accounts for each one and it's totally within Paypals terms.

It depends on what you are doing and the amount of transactions / money is going through the account. i currently have a premier account and I mostly use it to buy and sell items on eBay, not linked to my website, this may change in the future.

Just wondering what was the reason to have this thread?

What did we learn from it that would help us make money (as the tagline of this forum says)?

How does help me to know that WillR has a business account, for example.

Any reasonable person would read Paypal's terms and decide:
    - will buy only > personal acct.
    - will do business as a person > premier acct.
    - have a business? > business acct.

So, how does help anyone if I post here which one I have out of the 3 above?

I do in fact currently have a PayPal account under the category of business. Although I limit my transactions with them due to their unreliability.

To back up my statement of unreliability Just the other day a PayPal representative was telling me that paypal did not make a mistake and it was in fact my bank. So I called my bank and the to technical support people both from PayPal and my bank were arguing who was at fault. It in fact was a bit hilarious as the PayPal representative was simply repeating himself, trying not to accept any sort of blame when it was obvious they were at fault.

Anyways yeah I have a business account.

I just have a personal account, once money started flowing in they put it in holding stage... really sucks. Not sure if this had anything to do with whether it was a personal or not though.
