Wow! The power of the podcast.

I've always dismissed the idea of podcasts. They just didn't seem right - to sit and listen to something.

I couldn't have been more wrong in my life. I've just downloaded some podcasts and listened to about 10 in a row. That reminds me, I should be really getting to sleep before lunch.

Anyway, I've literally taken about 20 notes. Might not be a big deal, but those are 20 articles I will now write. My ideas are off on a tangent in some cases, to the podcast, but listening to them gave me huge ideas.

I'm going to start listening whilst exercising and travelling.

If you haven't already, get on it.

Content that is used in side of a podcast is carefully planned out and used to engage with the listener and make them really say "That is so true". Im a podcaster! Just started but I try to add great content that is fresh and very useful, so it is a great way to gain some ideas to write about!

People love podcasts. I listen to them in the car or while working out... it is like talk radio but you have more control over the topics you listen to because you pick which podcast to listen to.

I listen to podcasts I like while programming/art design work and they compliment working very well, they are also a huge inspiration booster for me. (I started when I was doing a labour job and it completely changed the job, I went from constantly thinking about the time and driving myself insane to breezing through the day and actually looking forward to working).

    Sign up for audible.com

You will get to listen to 2 audio books every month.

I have listed to a lot of great books instead of sitting and reading. ESP for people like us who work all day on a computer, the eyes are tired and listening is easier.

I always have podcasts ready to listen to on my phone, and I listen to them all the time. My current favourite internet marketing podcast is the Foolish Adventure podcast.

I love podcasts. I listen all day at work and when I am working out. I just can't find enough quality podcasts to fill up all the listening hours I have available.

Podcasts are awesome...listening to them can get you motivated.

Congratulations on getting 20 article ideas. Ideas are everywhere. Take a nap, a walk, do dishes, etc. The key is getting your brain in it's creative mode.

It's what you do when no one is watching
that determines what you will be able to
    do when everyone is watching.

I'm starting to listen to more and more podcasts lately. Since there's usually so much that we need to read and consume it's great to multitask and listen to something while I'm walking etc. Sometimes I even listen to them while I'm working on something else.

I always download them and keep a stack of them ready for me to get through. It's great that you can use them to get ideas for articles. I'll have to try that sometime - it would be great for niche blogging too! - and keeping up with the latest trends etc. I'll have to keep my notepad to hand next time I listen to one.

Yep, I always carry around a little pocket notepad, sad as it may be.

I can usually get inspired something that I see or hear. It makes it a lot easier to remember.

I'm actually just getting into listening to podcasts on my walk to and from my J.O.B. (which I hope to quit sooner rather then later). Does anyone have any recommendations for great listening?

There was a thread I posted a few days ago: tropicalmba.com.

The guy has a link on there to his podcasts. You can get the first 50 free if you subscribe. I've just bundled them onto my MP3.

I'd also be very interested if anyone has any places to look for them. Specifically for marketing or blogging.

      Cheers.

I agree fully, the only thing that I've had on my MP3 players for several years now are podcasts. My major form of "exercise" these days is to take a 4 or 5 mile walk with an MP3 player full of podcasts to listen to and give me inspiration, not to mention its a change from the 16 hours a day I spend in front of a computer!

One set I recommend, although they are not exclusively IM related , are the podcasts from Startup Nation.

    Podcasts

There is a lot of great advice in these ones, and it helps you focus on the business aspect of IM (and IM topics are covered as well).

I absolutely second the TropicalMBA recommendation. Their actual podcast is called the "Lifestyle Business Podcast" or LBP and you can check it out here:
    The Lifestyle Business Podcast

I know the guys personally...we've hung out at their place in Bali, here in the Philippines, etc. Great, great content. They've convinced us to start our own podcast at AdSenseFlippers. Ours it a bit more niched down than theirs, but you can take a listen at:

    Hope that helps!
