Getting a steady flow of 500 unique visitors per day isn't going to be easy. You have basically 2 options: Paid and Free.

Paid - you can buy ad spots on other sites, learn how to effectively run PPC, etc.

Free - you can learn how to rank your site using SEO, Creating YouTube videos, guest posting, and so much more.

Just search around the forum you will get SO MANY ideas.

Well, you should obviously promote it. Make some backlinks. Post on sites that has something to do with the particular celebrities (forums, twitter, facebook, blogs, everything related to a particular celebrity). People there will be interested in your site most naturally.

Well if you are looking for a steady 500 per day I would probably go with SEO. But that takes time to learn and it takes time to actually rank your sites.

However, if you have money to spare then you might aswell go with paid traffic. PPC and what not.

Internet marketers usually have either money or time; usually the latter.

Well, this is not a question that could be answered. It depends on the number of searches. If these top 3 are for a keyword that has 8 searches per month these 3 will get almost nothing. If the keyword gets 2000000 searches per month then it's another thing.

It is also hard to say how many even if you try to answer not in absolute numbers but in percentage. Roughly the top 3 could get about 75% of the traffic but it again depends on other factors, for example, on the keyword itself. There are keywords for which the top results will be enough to satisfy the searcher and there are others that could require to browse a few pages of Google results.

Was there this statistic that showed... what, 80% of organic traffic goes to the top 3 on google? Can't be sure of the numbers already. Someone will need to point that out. Anyway, back to the question, its subjective. It all depends on how much search traffic that keyword is getting.

Anyway, OP could experiment with buying traffic from sketchy traffic providers. But of course I say this in jest for the obvious reasons.

But yes, article marketing (done properly) and SEO will help with 500 visitors daily. I was able to half-heartedly drive 200 visitors daily from Twitter alone.

Slow method : article writing ------> Advantage : totally free
Quick method : Pay per click ------> Disadvantage : you have to spend money

Other methods that require time and money are : seo, social bookmarking, building a list, social media etc

  I have been building my site for the past year and I am just now getting 500-700 visitors a day. Most of these coming from google, some coming from forums in my niche,etc.
  
  I am new to all this and did everybit of it by hand. Did not pay for ads or seo or anything like that. I have been posting on forums in my niche, blogs in my niche and writing a lot of unique content. I ranked pretty quickly for my main keyword, but now a lot of my traffic comes from even more targeted keywords within my niche. I tried some article writing, but did not have much success with it. I'm probably biased here but if your site is about Celebrities I'd go with some Video Marketing. If you can make a short video about a topic your celebrity is involved in and rank that in Big G then your site will start to pull some visitors....

In my experience trying to get 500 visitors from SEO can be very hard and time consuming. Video, while you'd think it may be hard is actually quite easy in comparison to rank for.

Well if your looking the free way then basically what everyone else is saying, SEO/backlinks/fresh content. I just got done selling one of my sites and now a month ago started a new site and already I'm averaging almost 300 unique visitors a day doing what everyone else is saying to do. Though my earnings from adsense are low. As of this month so far only 30 bucks, but should get higher with more traffic.

It depends on the niche as well.

Yeah I would agree with most, if you want traffic quickly, try some paid stuff. A great way to do this is checking out some of the WSO, they have a few there that deal with SEO and backlinking so if you are lazy (like me admittedly) this may be a great option!

Good blogs just like women do not lack admirers.

Brand yourself/blog, offer relevant information.

Get some back links and dominate the SERP.

It's all about content. Start to build a community with lots of great content. Write it, hire it out, get it from article directories, whatever you need to do. Invite people to write guest posts on your site. Put up an optin box and offer a valuable report or some other information that people who dig celebs will appreciate.

You're in a pretty tough spot if you want 500 unique visits per day and your site is about celebrities. There are a ton of celebrity sites out there that have already been established long ago. The best bet would be doing some SEO on your site, and doing spreading word about your site across social media, and any other forms of communication with people online.

well first of all you better check the keyword in google keyword tool and make sure your keyword gets at least 500 searches a day . that is 15,000 visitors a month, thats a pretty competitive keyword. you may need a keyword that gets more than that, meaning even more competitive. To get that much organic search traffic will take a while. you might want to consider some paid traffic as well, there are lots of different sources for that, PPV, Media buys, Banners on related sites etc.

How much people searching for that word, relates to how much visitors you will get.

If you want to get 500 visitors a day without using paid tactics (likely) then you are going to need to do a lot of SEO work. You should try and build your website/pages around keywords and rank for them using both onpage and offpage SEO. This is a pretty in-depth concept to be honest

I run a celebrity blog that focuses on images. I still have written articles, but for the most part, images dominate my content. Celebrity sites draw traffic. You just have to ensure that your images, and/or content is licensed. Because if you draw a sizeable amount of traffic you could be on the receiving end of a few cease and desist letters.

Suggestion for you to get free traffic, create video only $5 on fiverr
Upload to youtube and share your video, submit the video to video.stumbleupon.com
and import your email address and send to your freinds on stumble upon.

You can laverage digg and other social sites like facebook and myspace to drive
traffic to videos.

You can use other video websites to upload your video to, but I would
recommend using tubemogul.com to automate your video submissions.

First you should absolutely work on your on page and of page SEO. Write a lot of good content for your site or get some one to write it for you. As long as you have good content not only will it help with ranking for your website, it will also help keeping people on your site, as well as get them to come back. And finally, in the short term, if you want to ger some traffic flowing to your site maybe you should consider PPC or a prepaid monthly traffic.
