Can Website Traffic Statistics be Hijacked?

It is possible that the website traffic statistics be hijacked by competitors and enemies.

Example: if the website has received 10,000 unique visitors, the statistics shows as 4,000 unique visitors.

My website has some 8,000 unique visitors but some "statistics website" show it as 40 unique visitors only.

    Doubtful, think about it.

    The hackers wouldn't really be getting anything out of it. Rather than seeing where your traffic comes from.

    I take the statistics from all these stat sites with a grain of salt. If you want to find out the actual visitor stats of your site, use a reliable monitor like google analytics, which is free and a breeze to install.
