How to sell your own product the right way....

Hi there,

I am trying various things such as article and video marketing and SEO. I am beginning to figure out that the best way to really sell your own ebook product is through JV's and Affiliates.

I have just drawn up a list of 10 webmasters who have products in a similar niche and just wondering what I would say to them. I guess I let them know about the product and a link to it on Clickbank so they can see the the details and commission etc. Is this in essense what I need to do to get JV's

Again if any of you can give me any clues of where I can market my ebook to attract affiliates that would also be great

Thanks!

You'd definitely want to build up some sort of relationship with them before offering your product. And you'll probably not be the first to do so, so why would they listen to you if there's no prior relationship.

when you list ur product in warrior plus, it'll attract affiliates, the rest is to give your affiliates review copies to prove that your product has high quality in value.. they will be gladly promoting your product.

There are lots of creative ways to get affiliates.

Figure out what value you can offer to potential JVs and their lists. Free Webinar training is one example.

You can also reach out to JVs by methods other-than-email, which may have a better chance of getting their attention. Maybe mail a hand written letter with a small gift attached, or set up some consultation time with them (and pay for it if you have to).

Before you spend time and money on this, it's essential that you know the JV is a good match for you and has a worthwhile list.

    Good luck.

I agree with Dann. Build a relationship with these people first. Maybe invite them to do some guest blogging on your site or something. Interact with them and get to know them first, then bring up the affiliate stuff.

People are more likely to help out people who they already like.

There really is no right or wrong way.

What I do may work for me but not you, what you do may work for you and not me. All that matters is that what you do 'works' for you.

But like has been said, you traditionally would want to build a relationship with the prospect before trying to sell to them.

This is somewhat up for debate.

After all, JVs are expensive to manage and recruit. Plus they are not all that reliable. It's easier to rely on yourself or those working directly under you to drive targeted traffic, not always so easy with JV's. Depends on whether or not it fits your style.

OP I'd send them a short, concise email to begin with. Just a brief message telling them why your contacting them. At the end of it have a call to action asking them to simply relpy "Yes" or "No" depending if they would like anymore information on your offer.

Don't go into too much detail in the first email - just test the water a bit and if they reply give them full details. You should search on Google for your targeted keywords for your ebook, there will be 1000's of relevant websites/forums etc. for you to contact.

Its a numbers game - maybe only 5% of those who you contact will actually market for you so you will have to put a bit of work into it.

One of the methods is to make a webinar for your product and invite people to attend it for free. In the webinar you can give complete details of your product and offer a free trial to all the attendees.

To get affiliates do something for them first. Buy one of their products and do a free video review. If your good at writing then write and eBook for them and just give it to them. If you have a list promote one of their products.

You must "give first" to get someones attention. Don't be afraid to give away your time and energy as this is something most business people don't have a lot of; they will appreciate it and it will come back to you.

    hey moneyland

if you have a specific product that you want to promote then a good way to sell it is to have some free gifts that you give away that you can build a list with

preferably a gift, ebook or videos related to the product your trying to sell

once you get prospects on your list you can then follow up with them over a perod of days, weeks, months and you will find your conversions will be much higher than if you just tried to sell it to cold search engine traffic or articles etc

taking on jv`s is very effective but its a good move to start the ball rolling your self and send some good traffic to the sales page so that you can inform your jv`s what your sales page converts at

those are the important numbers that you need to get not only for yourself but for your affiliates so they know how well it converts

    hope this helps

JV's, affiliates are certainly one of the main pillars for selling your infoproducts - sure. I'm also a big fan of content creation, SEO and advertising (once you get your conversions into a good zone). These methods are also highly effective and profitable.

To get affiliates, simple - you ask for a review first...get your product into their hands THEN, when you get a positive review from them, you put an offer in front of them. Be flexible, in some cases, early on, I secured big name affiliates by offering to record interviews with them or create content that they could re-use - much better than just a mail-out, though they did that too.
