If you Google "Go Daddy" and click on the first paid search (not free) listing you can get a domain for $2.95. You have the option to buy multiple years for that same price per year.

I have never even imagined domains can be sold at such a low price, are they making any profit from it really? I think many domain companies or competitors will close shop now!

If I buy a domain name at NetworkSolution, can I transfer the domain name to other registrar later? Such as NameCheap or GoDaddy.

Anyone who is worried about a $35/year bill for registration is either:

1) Building hundreds of spam sites that each potentially make a few dollars per year.

2) Has their priorities extremely messed up.

Network solutions isn't "one of the first." They were the first. They handled 100% of domain registrations back when domain registrations were free.

They are also the registrar used by a vast majority of real companies who don't yet qualify for Mark Monitor or Corporate Domains. Go do a whois on 10 or 100 known real businesses. Notice how often Network Solutions shows up?

Now go do a whois on the first 10 scam WSOs you see. Do a whois on the first 10 long page "Make $1,000,000 this week by doing absolutely nothing" sales letters. Do a whois on your favorite 10 PLR or blog spamming web-sites. How many times do you see Network Solutions? How many times do you see Namecheap or Godaddy?

Don't you think that EVERYONE running real businesses that can potentially affect your business knows about who hangs out on Network Solutions vs. Godaddy and Namecheap? Don't you think it affects your ranking, your possibilities for getting venture capital, the people willing to work for you, the companies willing to partner with you in some way and EVERYTHING else?

It's $35 to hang out with real businesses. It's $10 or something like that to hang out with the scammers and spammers. Your choice.
