I'm ready to build my list with PPC. Now what?

Ok. So I'm looking to get more into PPC since I'm realizing this is a more time-efficient way of getting traffic and yada, yada, yada.

I got a guide on using Google adwords and I have used it a few times before, but is there anything anyone would recommend doing to build my list with PPC? Any things I should watch out for? I'm targeting the internet marketing/video marketing niche, so is it really as simple as just doing some KW research, posting ads and pushing them to the squeeze page? Should I have an immediate funnel after they opt-in to try to make back the money I spent getting them on the list? Anything I'm missing?
