Default Any high volume, low ticket payment recommendations?

Hi Warriors,

I'm working on a new project which will have to take a LOT of small amount ($1) payments.

I don't want Paypal or credit card companies to screw me over with fees that take most of the small payment, so I'm after alternative payment systems which people could use and don't eat too much into the small payment.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Andy

Andy Paypal offer micropayment accounts at 5% + 5¢:
https://micropayments.paypal-labs.com/
I haven't used it but it looks like it might be suitable.

Unfortunately if you do that you will double the fees PayPal charges on all your transactions and not just the micro payments.

From the paypal micro payments sign up page:

Quote:
You can request that your existing Business or Premier PayPal account be switched to micropayments pricing. Once your account is switched, you will no longer receive your old pricing, and instead you will be charged the Micropayments rate. You can only make the request with a Business or Premier account.
It seems that the only smart choice would be to set up a new legal business entity which you can register a separate paypal business or premier account with which will be dedicated solely to the micropayment business model.
