Up and coming writer, what sort of site can I make?

Hey, I am still young (still in university) and I am interested in becoming a journalist and writing articles for newspapers, websites and more. But I would like to get some practice in before I do the real thing.

I have past with making websites and I make quite a lot per month, but I would like to do something that is based on writing, I was loving the idea of a news website, but thats extremely saturated?

Also, I don't really like freelance work. Writing articles for people on random topics doesn't appeal to me most of the time. I like to research and take time to structure the article.

What sort of site could I make that could do this?

Also, when it comes to monetization, I will find that out myself, just an idea and I would be extremely grateful!

Thanks.

You could launch a niche specific plr store - so that your content wasn't so random in topics and you also didn't have to work for anyone else. Or, create info products of your own.

Sounds like blogging would be PERFECT for you...

Why not start a blog and find ways to make money from it?

I have a few blogs, they are niche specific and all about products in that niche.

But most are low traffic (around 100 visits per day).

I may just start posting more on the sites, because I do like doing it

100 visits per day is actually not as bad as you think. You could make as much as $2 per day from 100 visits. Just increase the number of blogs you own to 100 and you'll be making $6000 a month

Write articles like you would for a newspaper.

Post them on forums like this one, on your blogs, on your social media.

I like the Tiffany Dow advice. PLR for profits but try to get your bases covered as far as the type, style and word count, because newspapers have limited space...so Solve Your Problem in the Direction of Your GOAL.

    Pulitzer Prize????

    Good luck.

I have actually been thinking about having my own website where I sell a range of services, and I have been thinking about providing a super targeted article service where I research your niche thoroughly then write you a nice article.

Although It may be a tiny bit more expensive, it will be worth it!

        What do you think?

        Thanks.

If you want more traffic and your objective is to turn your writing into customers online then you want to spend some time understanding keyword research.

If you combine your writing expertise with a solid undersatnding of the keywords behind leading products, that's the way to get more visitors to your blog and get them to buy when you offer them products related to that blog.

Writing a blog is different than writing journalistic articles as well - you want to communicate on a more intimate level with your visitor - be less objective, more opinionated and persuade your visitor to like you so they keep coming back.

Hm, I like both being opinionated and being objective based when writing, but keyword research does sound interesting. But im still trying to find out what type of articles convert best, ones that go out of their way to get affiliate links across, ones that hide affiliate links, or ones with just a few links or even one..

Its a hard thing to monitor unless you have a lot of time on your hands and you also need a few blogs at your expense that you use affiliate links for.

I have found the articles where

        1. Keywords are aligned well with search (solving a specific and urgent problem like "boost confidence", "burn belly fat" attract people who are urgently trying to solve a pressing, emotional problem)

        2. The title is compelling and conveys to the reader that you have a solution for their challenge

        3. Highly relevant affiliate links right in the post/article

This is what converts best for me.

        Jeff

    Don't become a journalist then

Most journalists spend all day rewriting press releases. These topics will be pretty random and the work is extremely boring.

Freelance work gives you more choice but you don't like freelance work

I suppose freelance isn't that bad, but just some of the articles that come up aren't in my range of knowledge at all, and most of the stuff that your given as a journalist is more in your range of knowledge, or there wouldn't be a point in writing it!

I may try freelancing again soon.
