If you have Netflix You MUST Watch This

Yesterday I spent the better part of the day listening to Tiffany Dow's interview with her mentor Craig Descorcy. He made a point that it's important for internet marketers (and people in general) to understand how we work as human beings, so that we know how to approach the people we work with and we know how to guard our minds. So I decided to re-watch a documentary I found on Netflix called "This Emotional Life." Emotions are something that we take for granted, but most of us have so little knowledge about HOW they work. That makes this series so valuable. It's three episodes long and features academic experts and also some insight from celebrities including John McEnroe, Elizabeth Gilbert, Katie Couric, Alanis Morissette and Chevy Chase.

I'll also say that Netflix is entertaining but it's also a huge resource when it comes to learning more about the world. I watch more documentaries than anything else on so many topics, including space, the environment, history, and yes the sex documentaries are interesting too. So if you have Netflix, do something to educate yourself today!

Thanks for this...it's good to get some good recommendations on Netflix--as 99% of the B-movies on the "instant streaming" service have no interest to me.

    thanks again!

They can get amazingly specific, e.g. "Critically-acclaimed British fight-the-system documentaries from the 1980s."

No problem. on Netflix streaming I watch mostly documentaries and T.V series that I've missed overtime. Though I feel kind of silly telling my friends that I finally watched Prison Break five years later. lol

Lately, I've been watching Monk, Psych, and White Collar. Just starting to look at Warehouse 13. (Which reminds me a lot of the Friday the 13th TV series.)

Meanwhile, I have friends griping that they can't get this or that show on some service or other. What I think is silly is that someone says "I can't get Game of Thrones on Netflix," when there are a couple hundred movies and several complete TV series which are awfully similar. I understand you want to watch Game of Thrones, but why not just watch Ironclad or Agora or Iphigenia? Why so focused on this one show that you're going to ignore thousands of other things that you'd enjoy every bit as much?

There's not enough time in the day for me to watch all the things I'd like to see on Netflix. Hell, there aren't enough years in my life to watch them all. Why complain about what they don't have? It just means more stuff I won't have time to see.

Netflix is where my son watches a lot of documentaries too. He's found a ton. Why he didn't watch them on TV I have no clue.

Me? I find stuff on Netflix and I get lost for days. Right now it's Friday Night Lights. What can I say? I'm a Texas girl.

Friday Night Lights is one of the best TV series ever created in my mind. A lot of people never gave it a chance because they thought it was just another sports story, but it is so much more! I would say the show is more about life and values than anything else.

And I'm your neighbor to the north, in Oklahoma!

It's not done is it? I'm only on season 2 so don't tell me anything! LOL!

It looks like it's still being produced. I'll be sad if not. Breaking Bad was another addiction for me on netflix. I love it all.

One other thing I love is finding old shows for my kids that I used to like. And when that little Disney chimp documentary comes out on Netflix, I'll have to see that - its breaking my heart w/the commercials.

I won't tell you anything about the show, but the show did end this past year after 5 seasons. You've got a lot of good stuff ahead though, so don't be too disappointed!

I also like watching Netflix documentaries, independent movies and TV series. It's great for exploring quirky subjects and stuff no one but you is interested in seeing.

Tiffany, I share your love of Friday Night Lights, and now I'll have to finish watching the series on Netflix.

I understand the desire to watch one particular series...I am one season behind on Mad Men because I prefer to watch through Netflix and see everything in one big marathon.

It's so funny to see things that I used to watch when I was a kid...I'll be all jazzed about Fraggle Rock and my nieces have this look like, can we watch Dora now??

It kills me how specific the categories can get...witty dramas with a strong female lead. That one just popped up on my menu recently.

I love doing the marathon thing...that's just what I did with Prison Break and 24. My sister will monopolize the t.v for The Tudors. Ah Netflix.

I love, love LOVE the Law & Order series (plural) on Netflix! I need to watch plain old Law & Order, but I've watched every season of SVU and am making my way through Criminal Intent.

I love watching the episodes back to back, sans commercials. I can't STAND commercials anymore! I HATE watching stuff on TV anymore too. Too much noise (Commercials. They literally ARE louder than the programming!), too little content. Just 40 minutes of content in a 60-minute period. And in between, commercials for shows I DON'T need in my head! (Operation Repo for example. Blech!)

I'm currently subscribed to Hulu too, but not for long. I just wanted to watch the rest of the Shark Tank series. I'm caught up now.

I'm also re-watching Secret Millionaire on Hulu. LOVE that show too!

But, ummm... I'm SUPPOSED to be watching Jeff Walker's PLF videos. I signed up in Nov. and have only made it through 3 of 6 modules.

        Oooops.....

        Michelle

P.S. In my defense, I've already gotten my first customers and am still only in pre-launch. Ahem...

I've seen "gory horror movies with a strong female lead." I'm not so big on the witty dramas.
