Can't Believe This Happened!

The Warrior Forum moderators have done a number on me and I can't believe this happened. I have worked on and off for the last 4 days getting a "Warriors for Hire" ad just right on the test forum. I put up the Paypal buttons to see if they worked and then removed them as the "test forum" rules say to do. I even put "For Test Purposes Only" on the ad.

Today the ad is gone. The ad I worked hard and long is gone. I also did a 2nd ad that was very similar and it's gone. I'm guilty of not backing this up and I should have known better. That's one on me but....

I entered a ticket in forum support and they said it must have been a glitch. A glitch! I have 2 ads out of thousands and they are both missing. I don't think so. A moderator threw them out for some reason. How about if they would have put them somewhere that they could be recovered if the whole thing was really necessary.

Does anybody know any way that this can be recovered? I'd appreciate any thoughts on this. I'm looking at spending a lot more time on this.
Thanks.

You need to go for a long walk, or have a long drink, and calm down.

Firstly - backups are always your responsibility. As I say to all my clients - it's your data and it's your responsibility to back it up - not mine, not the computer shop's, not your spouse's.

Secondly, sounding off at the moderators isn't guaranteed to earn you brownie points. I'm sure they understand that you're stressed, but a glitch is a glitch.

The ads were there for 4 days and then both disappeared like I said earlier. Doesn't sound like a glitch to me. Brownie points/ deleted from the forum? Wow! I'm asking for help on this. I admitted I should have backed the ads up. I wonder how many people back up their test ads. Oh well.

You are not asking for help. You are suggesting that the mods screwed you over then lied about it.

Too many people try to use the test forum as their personal little advertising heaven. Thus, your problem happened. Not saying this was your purpose, just saying if one is allowed more will try it.

I haven't been in there in a while, however I bet there are some ads in there right now.

    Hi Jerry,

It sounds like a pretty unfortunate situation, which you may just need to re-build now.

Always back your stuff up man. Even if you're writing something in the WF, you may want to highlight and save it into a Word doc or on notepad, etc. I'm sure you'll be able to get something up and running again.

If, as you say, they were test ads, you certainly should have had a copy of them. I simply can't imagine that you didn't. How long did you have these "test" ads up? You should have been able to launch them and see if they looked good and then actually pay for the ads in the appropriate forum, and then delete them yourself.

The Warrior Froum modulators don't do numbers on folks unless they deserve it and I am shore that startin out like that probably won't get your supper served very fast!

For your PC's Temporary Internet folder Go to Start, Search, and search for Temp. All your temp folders will come up. Look in Temporary Internet (double click to open it.) and very carefully look for a file named whatever you had in your subject like of the post.

For the Google Cache. Search in Google for your username on the Warriorforum and see if the page comes up clicking "cached pages" in all current results.

George Wright P.S. I'm just trying to help, however, you really should listen the Thad and the others RE: your OP. I usually just report OPs like yours, but, I do know you are frustrated.

Relax and try to create a new ad. And this time, back it up. Don't blame the mods.

If it's got a live order button in the test forum, or a real thread title that looks like an ad, we'll delete it when we see it. That usually means someone reported it, since we don't spend a huge amount of time policing that section. (Which we'll probably have to do now, since I said that.)

I deleted a couple out of there yesterday. Not sure if they were yours, but both threads broke both of those rules. Which, I might add, are conspicuously and conveniently posted at the very top of the section, with the unambiguous title, "READ THIS BEFORE POSTING IN THE TEST FORUM."

Now, considering those things, who was it that screwed you over?

    Just some friendly advice.

I always wonder why people are really afraid that they will be banned or they will receive infractions if they just say their mind..

nehow, Its ok I can understand your pain. Just calm down and start again.Things always happen for a reason. Reason to make you better. Who knows You might come up with a great AD today itself.

Take it on the chin. A hard lesson learned and a mistake which I doubt you will ever repeat again. We have all been there, I forgot to back up a site which was subsequently hacked, 6 months work down the drain and 10 days to reconstruct
